Chapter 120
SAGE
“We need to talk,” Titus whispered, his deep voice low and intimate, meant only for me..
I glanced around instinctively, my eyes sweeping the room. The mood was jubilant; everyone was too caught up in celebrating the new alliance to notice us. That gave me a momentary sense of relief, but also doubt. Why did we need to talk now, when any interaction could risk drawing unnecessary attention to us?
I opened my mouth, ready to brush off his request and avoid whatever charged conversation he had in mind, but before I could, Anna appeared out of nowhere.
“Congratulations, Your Majesty!” she exclaimed, her voice brimming with false cheer as she quickly looped her arms around Titus. “We’re just a step away from reclaiming the throne. This calls for a proper celebration!”
Her bold display made my stomach twist, but what caught my attention even more was Titus’s reaction. His jaw tightened, and a flash of irritation darkened his crimson eyes. He stood stiffly, clearly uncomfortable with Anna clinging to him like that. Without a word, he gently but firmly peeled her hands away from him, his expression sharp enough to cut through her
enthusiasm.
I didn’t wait to see what would happen next. While he was distracted dealing with Anna’s unwelcome embrace, I took the opportunity to slip away. The last thing I wanted was to get tangled up in whatever drama her presence would undoubtedly
create.
My heart raced–not just from the tension of the moment but from the unease that had been building since my passionate night with Titus.
my head. What did he want to talk about? Did it have to do with last night? Or worse, had Anna somehow planted doubts in his mind? Shaking my head, I tried to banish the thought. None of that mattered right now. All I wanted was space to clear I slipped into one of the quieter hallways, my steps soft against the cold stone floor. The sound of laughter and clinking glasses from the hall grew fainter with each step, until it faded completely. Turning a corner, I was met with silence, the cool morning air brushing against my skin, grounding me in the stillness of the moment.
Eventually, I wandered into the courtyard. The first light of morning painted the stones in soft shades of gold and pink, while the crisp air carried a hint of dew. Leaning against a wall, I closed my eyes, trying to calm the whirlwind in my head. For a brief moment, it was just me and the quiet.
But that peace
didn’t last.
“Running from me again, kitten?” His voice cut through the stillness, low and steady, yet sharp enough to send a shiver through me.
I turned quickly, my breath catching as I saw Titus standing in the doorway. The soft light outlined his broad frame, making him seem even more imposing. How had he followed me without a sound?
“I wasn’t running,” I said quickly, crossing my arms in a weak attempt to look composed. “I just needed some air.”
His crimson eyes fixed on me, unreadable and intense, as he stepped closer. “I thought I made myself clear that I wanted a word with you,” he said, his voice calm but laced with frustration
“I didn’t think there was anything else to say,” I replied, my voice unsteady despite my effort to sound confident.
There are a lot of things that we should talk about,” he shot back his voice calm but determined as he closed the space
ng with why you keep avoiding me.” between us with steady, purposeful steps.
I opened my mouth to reply, some excuse or denial forming on my tongue, but he raised his hand, halting me mid–thought,

Chapter 120
“Don’t.” he said, his 16e firm but not unkind. “If Another he is about to come from those beautiful lips of yours, spare both. I don’t want to hear it
“Y–Your Majesty.” I stammered, my voice barely above a whisp
“Yes?” he murmured, his crimson eyes locking onto mine as he stepped closer, invading the shrinking space between us
“1-1..” My voice faltered, my mind scrambling for words that refused to come.
He tilted his head, the faintest hint of a smirk curling at his lips Imm?” he murmured, leaning in until his warm breath fanned against my skin. His lips brushed lightly against the curve of my neck, sending an involuntary shiver through me “You can run as much as you like, kitten, but let’s not pretend you can ever truly get away from me.”
My breath hitched at his words, my heart hammering in my chest. Gathering every ounce of courage I had. I pushed back against the overwhelming pull of his presence. “Why wouldn’t I run?” I shot back, my voice trembling but steady enough to carry my meaning. “You’ve never given me a reason to stay.”
His body tensed at my words, his lips hovering above my neck as if frozen in place. Slowly, he straightened, lifting his gaze to meet mine. The intensity in his eyes sent a chill down my spine, but I didn’t look away.
“Have you forgotten, Your Majesty?” I said, my voice growing bolder despite the lump in my throat. “You begged me to sever

The readers' comments on the novel: Betrayed by an Alpha claimed by a Lycan King (Sage and Titus)
Is it finished?...
...i mean...you had the perfect ending...why keep going?? ugh...i feel like author is going to continue with twists and turns [-_-]...
Don't mean to be rude but half the chapters are missing. As in your only publishing Half the chapter. Not all of it...
Would love more chapters...
ok just as a recap because i'm getting confused with this plot: sage (the daughter of the ex-alpha who was killed for betraying his pack) is contracted to marry the lycan king bc the present alpha doesn't want to give his own daughter to the king. sage sleeps with someone before the wedding (turns out to be the king). there's a caper at the palace where the king doesn't let her look at him bc he wants to keep her guessing for some reason but eventually she finds out that man she slept with is her husband now. there are other concubines and a queen but for some reason titus still doesn't have an heir despite being like thousands of years old. there is a prophecy that a red wolf will destroy the evil inside the king and when it comes to pass titus looks like he dies. sage runs away (she is the red wolf) bc shes scared of being called a killer. when she comes back titus has been manipulated to believe her "sister" is his mate. there's an intermission where sage runs away with her handmaiden to new york and they start a life for themselves. until titus buys out the company bc he's filthy rich and drags her back. the sister gets punished and jailed to be killed, but sage's intervention (due to her previous feelings for the brother) prevents her death. there's a point when the royal elders storm the castle and titus is jailed and almost at the point of death. taking the beta and her handmaiden they rescue titus and restore him to health. while sage was in new york, titus had somehow found his dead wife again (anna?) and she's very childlike and annoying. all the times sage saves titus doesn't matter because he's been deposed as king and brainwashed by his dead wife to believe she's everything to him. titus dissolves the bond between he and sage (bc of pressure from previous wife) but still has feelings for her and still sleeps with her while trying to reclaim his throne by making alliances with other werewolf packs. a bounty hunter offers his help but demands sage as the price. titus says no, but sage goes behind his back anyway and makes the deal. thinking titus is blinded by sage's presence that prevents him from forming alliance with a pack and having that alpha's daughter as his queen, she runs way with the bounty hunter and he puts her up for sale (she's an idiot for doing this). finding out she's pregnant with an accelerated pregnancy (due to blood moon sex?) she runs away from the auction house and is rescued by a couple who never had kids miles away from where she ran away. 3 years or so pass and she is happy with her chosen family until the bounty hunter finds her again and she goes with him to keep him away from her kids only to be rescued by titus at the auction house. he also finds her kids (bc they obvy would run away to find her) but she for some reason convinces them to lie and say they're not her kids. reunited again, they come across rogue wolves who hurt titus, but they somehow all fit into the helicopter that comes at the right time to save them all. titus while being gravely ill still saves sage from being sentenced to death, but now her kids are in danger....
ok now im reinvested! I hope the kids will be ok! titus now would be a good time to wake up!...
If possible, kindly change the title of the book too because Sage is suppose to be happy with Titus but this back and forth is making the book boring...
Please this has to stop , Titus is suppose to be her savior but she's going through too much...
This book really started good. And for whatever reason, the author keeps on adding boring and nonsensical twist to the story. I'm just skipping through chapters and story still the same.repeating issues and conflict and convo. So tiring. I'm just checking in hoping I can read the ending. Lolz...
We need an end soon. It getting boting and is so boring. Also people is missing. Were is her former maid and scott used to be her friend now he treat her like a stranger...
