The thought screamed louder in my head with every passing second. My instincts, my fear, and the fierce determination to protect the growing life inside me were all in agreement. I had to escape.
There was no telling what Kieran would do once he found out I was carrying the Lycan King’s heir. His promises, his schemes–none of it mattered anymore. He would use this child as a pawn, just as he used me.
But how? How could I get out of here, out of this place, without being caught?
“What are you thinking, child?”
The elderly woman’s soft, knowing voice pulled me out of my spiraling thoughts. She stood before me, her eyes kind but sharp, as though she could see right through me–into my heart my fears, my desperate plans.
I hesitated, caught in the throes of indecision. Could I trust her? barely knew her, but there was something about her presence that tells me I can trust her. Every instinct told me she was the only ally I had in this nightmare.
Finally, I spoke, my voice barely above a whisper. “I need to protect this child,” I said, keeping my words deliberately vague.
She tilted her head, her warm gaze softening even more. “Of course, you have to, dear. The child in your womb will be our salvation. You must protect him at all costs.”
Her conviction startled me, but it also steadied me. Someone else believed in the importance of this child- even wrapped my mind around yet.
Child I hadn’t
“But I don’t know how to do that,” I admitted, my voice cracking. “I’m bound to Kieran through a blood pact. I can’t leave without fulfilling my end of the bargain.”
Her lips curved into a small, almost amused smile, and she let out a gentle chuckle. “Oh, dear child,” she said, shaking her head slightly. “It seems the Moon Goddess is in your favor. She’s granted you more time than you realize to figure your way out of this.”
I frowned, confusion furrowing my brow. “What do you mean?”
She set the basin she’d been holding down and took a step closer, her hand brushing lightly against my arm. “Blood pacts may bind the flesh, but they cannot bind another flesh that wasn’t included in the original pact.”
Her words made me pause, a faint flicker of hope breaking through the chaos swirling over my head. “So… does that mean I can escape? That the blood pact can’t force me to pay the price?” I asked, my voice trembling, though a small spark of determination began to grow.
The older woman’s kind smile deepened, “For now, yes,” she said softly. “While your child is still inside you, the blood pact can’t bind you to its terms. It’s a protection granted by the Moon Goddess that no innocent life will be forced to participate in a blood pact he has no part in the first place.”
Relief washed over me, but it didn’t last long. Her expression turned serious as she continued, “But this protection won’t last forever. Once your child is born, the pact will take hold again.”
“That’s more than enough time for me to figure something out. What is important right now is that I’ll be able to escape this

She placed her palm gently on my stomach again, her eyes closing as if she were listening to something only she could hear. After a moment, she spoke, her voice calm but laced with gravity “It seems you only have about eight months left before your child is born. Judging by the energy and aura I can feel, your little one is already more than six weeks along.”
Her words sent a wave of confusion crashing over me. “Six week” I repeated, my brows knitting together. “But… it’s only been a few days since the last time…” I trailed off, my mind racing. Could it be possible that I was already pregnant before Titus and I were together after he lost his memories?
The realization sent a chill through me, but before I could make sense of it, the woman’s voice cut through my thoughts. “You might have a bigger problem, dear,” she said softly, her ton growing more serious. “The eclipse was only a few days ago, wasn’t it? And you know as well as I do that a lycan king can only conceive an heir with his mate during an eclipse. Such events are rare.”

Don't mean to be rude but half the chapters are missing. As in your only publishing Half the chapter. Not all of it...

ok just as a recap because i'm getting confused with this plot: sage (the daughter of the ex-alpha who was killed for betraying his pack) is contracted to marry the lycan king bc the present alpha doesn't want to give his own daughter to the king. sage sleeps with someone before the wedding (turns out to be the king). there's a caper at the palace where the king doesn't let her look at him bc he wants to keep her guessing for some reason but eventually she finds out that man she slept with is her husband now. there are other concubines and a queen but for some reason titus still doesn't have an heir despite being like thousands of years old. there is a prophecy that a red wolf will destroy the evil inside the king and when it comes to pass titus looks like he dies. sage runs away (she is the red wolf) bc shes scared of being called a killer. when she comes back titus has been manipulated to believe her "sister" is his mate. there's an intermission where sage runs away with her handmaiden to new york and they start a life for themselves. until titus buys out the company bc he's filthy rich and drags her back. the sister gets punished and jailed to be killed, but sage's intervention (due to her previous feelings for the brother) prevents her death. there's a point when the royal elders storm the castle and titus is jailed and almost at the point of death. taking the beta and her handmaiden they rescue titus and restore him to health. while sage was in new york, titus had somehow found his dead wife again (anna?) and she's very childlike and annoying. all the times sage saves titus doesn't matter because he's been deposed as king and brainwashed by his dead wife to believe she's everything to him. titus dissolves the bond between he and sage (bc of pressure from previous wife) but still has feelings for her and still sleeps with her while trying to reclaim his throne by making alliances with other werewolf packs. a bounty hunter offers his help but demands sage as the price. titus says no, but sage goes behind his back anyway and makes the deal. thinking titus is blinded by sage's presence that prevents him from forming alliance with a pack and having that alpha's daughter as his queen, she runs way with the bounty hunter and he puts her up for sale (she's an idiot for doing this). finding out she's pregnant with an accelerated pregnancy (due to blood moon sex?) she runs away from the auction house and is rescued by a couple who never had kids miles away from where she ran away. 3 years or so pass and she is happy with her chosen family until the bounty hunter finds her again and she goes with him to keep him away from her kids only to be rescued by titus at the auction house. he also finds her kids (bc they obvy would run away to find her) but she for some reason convinces them to lie and say they're not her kids. reunited again, they come across rogue wolves who hurt titus, but they somehow all fit into the helicopter that comes at the right time to save them all. titus while being gravely ill still saves sage from being sentenced to death, but now her kids are in danger....
ok now im reinvested! I hope the kids will be ok! titus now would be a good time to wake up!...
If possible, kindly change the title of the book too because Sage is suppose to be happy with Titus but this back and forth is making the book boring...

This book really started good. And for whatever reason, the author keeps on adding boring and nonsensical twist to the story. I'm just skipping through chapters and story still the same.repeating issues and conflict and convo. So tiring. I'm just checking in hoping I can read the ending. Lolz...
We need an end soon. It getting boting and is so boring. Also people is missing. Were is her former maid and scott used to be her friend now he treat her like a stranger...
