Chapter 134
Chapter 134
SAGE
I couldn’t tell how long I had been running. My legs felt like they were on fire, my lungs burned with every breath, but I didn’t stop. I couldn’t. Fear gripped me tightly, my mind filled with the thought of Keiran chasing me, ready to catch me if I slowed down. I kept running, driven only by desperation, until my body gave out.
The world around me blurred, spinning faster and faster until it felt like the ground vanished beneath my feet. Darkness crept in, and I let it take me. I was too tired to fight. As I was slowly swallowed by darkness, there was only one thing left in my mind: that was the end of me.
But a sound of crashing waves woke me. It was loud and constant, like they were calling me back. I felt a gentle rocking, my body swaying as if I were being cradled. Slowly, I opened my eyes, but the bright sunlight hit me hard, forcing them shut again. Groaning softly, I raised my hand to shield my face from the sun’s glare.
Every part of me ached. My muscles screamed in protest, reminding me of how far I had pushed myself. Even though I was exhausted, I managed to sit up a little, grimacing at the pain.
“Oh, thank goodness! You’re awake!” a voice exclaimed, warm and full of relief. I was startled, and my mind began to panic. I turned my head to see an older woman with kind eyes and a big smile. She looked like she had been waiting for me to wake
“Where… where am I?” I croaked, my throat dry and voice hoarse.
She clasped her hands together, her smile never faltering. “We found you on the shore last night while we were delivering some goods. You were completely passed out, poor dear. Nobody in the area seemed to know you, so we decided to bring you with us and take care of you. I hope that’s all right. We couldn’t take leaving you out there.”
She spoke quickly, almost like she wanted to reassure me before I could protest. There was nothing but kindness in her voice. I glanced around and realized I was on a boat, the open sea stretching endlessly around us. There was no sign of land, no sign of the shore I had collapsed on.
I didn’t know if I could trust them. But what choice did I have?
“W–Where are you taking me?” I asked cautiously, my voice trembling but firm enough to keep my guard up.
“It’s up to you, dear,” she said with a kind smile. “Do you have any place in mind where we can drop you off? We’ll be reaching the next port in a few hours. Would you like to get off there?”
I hesitated, the weight of my next decision pressing down on me. I stayed silent for a moment, thinking carefully about what to do. “What port is it?” I asked finally.
“Our stop will be the Port of South Louisiana,” she replied.
South Louisiana. That was far from Titus‘ territory—far enough that he might not find me there as well as Kieran. This is basically part of human territory. But was it truly safe? And even if it was, I didn’t know a single person in that area, no one I could turn to for help.
“I–I’m sorry. I don’t know anyone there,” I admitted, lowering my gaze.
“Oh, is that so?” she said, her expression softening. “Then don’t worry. Why don’t you come to our house for a bit? You can rest and maybe make a few calls to someone who can help you.

Chapter 134
“1-1 have no one to call,” I whispered, my chest tightening with the painful truth.
Her brows knit together, concern deepening in her kind eyes. “Why is that, dear? Do you have a name?”
1 froze, unable to answer. What was I supposed to say? I didn’t have a real answer. I didn’t even know if I could tell her the truth.
Her face filled with alarm, and she gasped softly. “Oh, no! Could it be that you’ve lost your memory because of whatever happened to you? Oh, you poor child,” she said, her voice full of worry.
Before I could respond, an elderly man appeared from what looked like the captain’s cabin. His weathered face and stern demeanor gave him an air of authority, but there was a softness in his eyes that matched hers.
“Honey, what’s going on here?” he asked, his deep voice tinged with curiosity.
“Oh, sweetie,” the woman said, turning to him. “This poor child can’t remember anything.”
The man sighed, running a hand through his salt–and–pepper hair. “Gertrude, don’t tell me you want to rescue another one? First, it was a cat, then a dog, and now a human?” he said, his tone laced with playful annoyance. But even then, it was clear how much he adored his wife.
“What do you expect me to do, Robert? I can’t just leave her like this,” she replied, her voice firm with compassion.
Robert let out a heavy sigh, shaking his head. “We could take her to the police, you know,” he suggested.

The readers' comments on the novel: Betrayed by an Alpha claimed by a Lycan King (Sage and Titus)
Is it finished?...
...i mean...you had the perfect ending...why keep going?? ugh...i feel like author is going to continue with twists and turns [-_-]...
Don't mean to be rude but half the chapters are missing. As in your only publishing Half the chapter. Not all of it...
Would love more chapters...
ok just as a recap because i'm getting confused with this plot: sage (the daughter of the ex-alpha who was killed for betraying his pack) is contracted to marry the lycan king bc the present alpha doesn't want to give his own daughter to the king. sage sleeps with someone before the wedding (turns out to be the king). there's a caper at the palace where the king doesn't let her look at him bc he wants to keep her guessing for some reason but eventually she finds out that man she slept with is her husband now. there are other concubines and a queen but for some reason titus still doesn't have an heir despite being like thousands of years old. there is a prophecy that a red wolf will destroy the evil inside the king and when it comes to pass titus looks like he dies. sage runs away (she is the red wolf) bc shes scared of being called a killer. when she comes back titus has been manipulated to believe her "sister" is his mate. there's an intermission where sage runs away with her handmaiden to new york and they start a life for themselves. until titus buys out the company bc he's filthy rich and drags her back. the sister gets punished and jailed to be killed, but sage's intervention (due to her previous feelings for the brother) prevents her death. there's a point when the royal elders storm the castle and titus is jailed and almost at the point of death. taking the beta and her handmaiden they rescue titus and restore him to health. while sage was in new york, titus had somehow found his dead wife again (anna?) and she's very childlike and annoying. all the times sage saves titus doesn't matter because he's been deposed as king and brainwashed by his dead wife to believe she's everything to him. titus dissolves the bond between he and sage (bc of pressure from previous wife) but still has feelings for her and still sleeps with her while trying to reclaim his throne by making alliances with other werewolf packs. a bounty hunter offers his help but demands sage as the price. titus says no, but sage goes behind his back anyway and makes the deal. thinking titus is blinded by sage's presence that prevents him from forming alliance with a pack and having that alpha's daughter as his queen, she runs way with the bounty hunter and he puts her up for sale (she's an idiot for doing this). finding out she's pregnant with an accelerated pregnancy (due to blood moon sex?) she runs away from the auction house and is rescued by a couple who never had kids miles away from where she ran away. 3 years or so pass and she is happy with her chosen family until the bounty hunter finds her again and she goes with him to keep him away from her kids only to be rescued by titus at the auction house. he also finds her kids (bc they obvy would run away to find her) but she for some reason convinces them to lie and say they're not her kids. reunited again, they come across rogue wolves who hurt titus, but they somehow all fit into the helicopter that comes at the right time to save them all. titus while being gravely ill still saves sage from being sentenced to death, but now her kids are in danger....
ok now im reinvested! I hope the kids will be ok! titus now would be a good time to wake up!...
If possible, kindly change the title of the book too because Sage is suppose to be happy with Titus but this back and forth is making the book boring...
Please this has to stop , Titus is suppose to be her savior but she's going through too much...
This book really started good. And for whatever reason, the author keeps on adding boring and nonsensical twist to the story. I'm just skipping through chapters and story still the same.repeating issues and conflict and convo. So tiring. I'm just checking in hoping I can read the ending. Lolz...
We need an end soon. It getting boting and is so boring. Also people is missing. Were is her former maid and scott used to be her friend now he treat her like a stranger...
