I was lead by one of the guards towards the room where Titus was. The guard knocked on the door, and after a few minutes, I heard Beta Scott’s voice inside.
“Come in.”
The guard then opened the door for me. He gestured with his hand, allowing me to walk through the door.
I found Titus standing behind his desk, staring at the documents on top of his table. While Beta Scott was standing on the other side of the table.
Scott looked at me with emotions I couldn’t read.
“You can leave now,” Titus dismissed Scott with a cold voice.
I can feel the intense tension between them. It makes me wonder if this has something to do with Scott’s involvement in my escape plan three years ago. Did Titus find out that Scott convinced me to leave?
Beta Scott bowed his head before he turned to me and did the same. After that, he went ahead and left the room.
Titus remained silent for a long moment, his sharp gaze locked onto the papers in front of him. He didn’t look at me right away, but I could feel the weight of his presence pressing down on me, suffocating in its intensity.
The quiet stretched between us, thick with unspoken words. I stood still, refusing to fidget under his scrutiny, though my heart pounded against my ribs.
Finally, he lifted his head. His icy blue eyes met mine, burning with something unreadable.
“Sit down,” he ordered, his tone eerily calm.
I hesitated, the tension in the room thick enough to suffocate me. Titus‘ icy blue eyes never wavered from mine, his gaze sharp and unreadable.
“You and Beta Scott were talking about something serious? I can come back later,” I suggested, trying to sound casual even as my heart pounded in my chest.
Titus tilted his head slightly, regarding me with that infuriatingly unreadable expression. Then, his lips parted, and his voice came out smooth, almost bored.
“Did I ask for your opinion?”
The dismissiveness in his tone sent a fresh wave of irritation through me, but I bit down on my tongue to keep from lashing out. This was a dangerous game, and I couldn’t afford to lose control.
My stomach twisted, but I forced my face to remain neutral. “I was just saying that whatever it is you’re about to tell me, I doubt it’s as important as what you and Scott were discussing.”
His lips curled at the edges, though there was no amusement in it. “Sure you do.”
Titus leaned back in his chair, his fingers steepling together as he studied me with a slow, calculated gaze. The way he watched me sent a shiver down my spine–it wasn’t just scrutiny; it was something deeper. As if he was peeling away layers, searching for cracks in my armor.
“It seems like you and Scott have a lot of things to agree on,” he mused, his voice deceptively casual.

I stiffened at his words, my pulse quickening. Was this a test? Did he know something, or was he simply fishing for a
reaction?
I forced a tight–lipped smile. “Scott is your Beta. He follows your orders. If we agreed on something, it was probably because
it made sense.”
Titus hummed, tapping his fingers against the armrest of his chair. “Is that so?”
“Yes,” I answered firmly.
He leaned forward suddenly, placing his elbows on the desk as he stared at me with sharp intensity. “Tell me, Sage, do you take me for a fool?”
I forced myself to breathe, to keep my voice steady. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Titus tilted his head slightly, watching me with amusement. “Lying doesn’t suit you, kitten,”
He suddenly stood, rounding the desk with slow, deliberate steps. My breath caught as he closed the distance between us, his towering frame making me feel small and vulnerable.
“You don’t need to cover up for him. He already admitted that he’s the one who convinced you to leave. And he’s already paid the consequences of his actions.”
Every muscle in my body locked. His words struck like a lightning bolt, sending panic coursing through my veins.
I cleared my throat, trying to hide the fear creeping through my veins. “Then, what am I doing here?” I said as I was looking up at him while he was standing right in front of me.
“So, eager to leave, are we?” he said sarcastically with a devilish smirk playing on his lips.
I swallowed hard as he leaned in closer, his piercing gaze locked onto mine. My grip on the armrests tightened, my knuckles turning white as I held my breath. Every inch of space between us slowly disappeared, and I braced myself for something inevitable–something I wasn’t sure I wanted or could handle.
But then… he stopped.
Just inches away, his warm breath fanned over my lips, teasing, taunting. My chest rose and fell with shallow breaths, my heart pounding against my ribs.
And then, just as effortlessly as he had invaded my space, he pulled away.
I exhaled sharply, my relief palpable. But I knew better than to let my guard down around him.
Titus circled back around the table, hisements slow and deliberate. He lowered himself into his chair, reclining with an
air of authority, his expression unreadable as he picked up a brown folder and extended it toward me.
“Here,” he said, his voice as smooth as ever. “Sign this.”
I frowned, hesitating before taking the folder from his hands. My fingers trembled slightly as I fished out the documents inside, scanning the first few lines.
My stomach twisted.
My frown deepened, my eyes snapping back up to him. “What is this?” I asked, confusion laced in my voice.
Titus didn’t waver, his expression calm yet cold. “The child that you will bear will not be a legal heir unless I make you my concubine,” he stated, his tone as casual as if he were discussing the weather.
I blinked, my grip tightening around the papers. My chest const as his words settled in, their meaning clawing at my

The readers' comments on the novel: Betrayed by an Alpha claimed by a Lycan King (Sage and Titus)
Is it finished?...
...i mean...you had the perfect ending...why keep going?? ugh...i feel like author is going to continue with twists and turns [-_-]...
Don't mean to be rude but half the chapters are missing. As in your only publishing Half the chapter. Not all of it...
Would love more chapters...
ok just as a recap because i'm getting confused with this plot: sage (the daughter of the ex-alpha who was killed for betraying his pack) is contracted to marry the lycan king bc the present alpha doesn't want to give his own daughter to the king. sage sleeps with someone before the wedding (turns out to be the king). there's a caper at the palace where the king doesn't let her look at him bc he wants to keep her guessing for some reason but eventually she finds out that man she slept with is her husband now. there are other concubines and a queen but for some reason titus still doesn't have an heir despite being like thousands of years old. there is a prophecy that a red wolf will destroy the evil inside the king and when it comes to pass titus looks like he dies. sage runs away (she is the red wolf) bc shes scared of being called a killer. when she comes back titus has been manipulated to believe her "sister" is his mate. there's an intermission where sage runs away with her handmaiden to new york and they start a life for themselves. until titus buys out the company bc he's filthy rich and drags her back. the sister gets punished and jailed to be killed, but sage's intervention (due to her previous feelings for the brother) prevents her death. there's a point when the royal elders storm the castle and titus is jailed and almost at the point of death. taking the beta and her handmaiden they rescue titus and restore him to health. while sage was in new york, titus had somehow found his dead wife again (anna?) and she's very childlike and annoying. all the times sage saves titus doesn't matter because he's been deposed as king and brainwashed by his dead wife to believe she's everything to him. titus dissolves the bond between he and sage (bc of pressure from previous wife) but still has feelings for her and still sleeps with her while trying to reclaim his throne by making alliances with other werewolf packs. a bounty hunter offers his help but demands sage as the price. titus says no, but sage goes behind his back anyway and makes the deal. thinking titus is blinded by sage's presence that prevents him from forming alliance with a pack and having that alpha's daughter as his queen, she runs way with the bounty hunter and he puts her up for sale (she's an idiot for doing this). finding out she's pregnant with an accelerated pregnancy (due to blood moon sex?) she runs away from the auction house and is rescued by a couple who never had kids miles away from where she ran away. 3 years or so pass and she is happy with her chosen family until the bounty hunter finds her again and she goes with him to keep him away from her kids only to be rescued by titus at the auction house. he also finds her kids (bc they obvy would run away to find her) but she for some reason convinces them to lie and say they're not her kids. reunited again, they come across rogue wolves who hurt titus, but they somehow all fit into the helicopter that comes at the right time to save them all. titus while being gravely ill still saves sage from being sentenced to death, but now her kids are in danger....
ok now im reinvested! I hope the kids will be ok! titus now would be a good time to wake up!...
If possible, kindly change the title of the book too because Sage is suppose to be happy with Titus but this back and forth is making the book boring...
Please this has to stop , Titus is suppose to be her savior but she's going through too much...
This book really started good. And for whatever reason, the author keeps on adding boring and nonsensical twist to the story. I'm just skipping through chapters and story still the same.repeating issues and conflict and convo. So tiring. I'm just checking in hoping I can read the ending. Lolz...
We need an end soon. It getting boting and is so boring. Also people is missing. Were is her former maid and scott used to be her friend now he treat her like a stranger...
