“No, Your Majesty. I think it was me who didn’t make myself clear. I have no plans on going back. Especially now that I have no reason to do so. You said it yourself that I’m already acquitted of all the charges against me. Vy would I go back?” I scoff, acting as if that thought was the worst idea ever.
His eyes glow, and his wolf was threatening to come out. It seems like he was about to shift any moment. A year ago, that sight would have made my legs tremble with fear. But I’m not the same Sage I once was. I knew that by escaping from the most powerful lycan, I’d be forever hunted by death. So, I made sure to prepare myself for this moment. I’ve been training relentlessly, ready for a fight whenever it comes.
I readied myself the moment I saw him take a step forward, my body instinctively shifting into a defensive stance. His surprise was evident, a flicker of something unreadable crossing his face before it was replaced by a mischievous smirk.
“That’s cute, kitten,” he began, his tone laced with condescension.
