Sofia’s POV
The meeting didn’t end up being a disaster, that I can say… but then it wasn't perfect. Luca had said I was going to get a better hang of it as the time went by, and that I shouldn’t beat myself up over the fact that I hadn’t been able to really pull it off. I had thankfully not ended up embarrassing myself right in front of those women, which was all that had really mattered to me from the very start. I moved my fingers into my hair and tugged on the roots a little, throwing my head back as I allowed my eyes to slide shut, as the evening breeze blew against my face.
It was three days after the meeting with the women of the official men in the mafia had happened, and things had returned back to how it used to be… I guess. I was currently sitting on the house balcony, and the cool evening breeze was blowing around really colder than I had expected it to be when I had made my way up here.
It had been some minutes before it got to eight p.m in the night when I had made my way up here and I hadn’t bothered to go get a jacket because I had been thinking the evening breeze wouldn’t be this cold.
Obviously, I was wrong.
I had left my phone downstairs in the sitting room, I didn’t think I was going to need it for a thing which was why I had left it behind. I literally text nobody on it, except my new friend, Kayla.
Kayla and I… Kayla and I had gotten pretty close, pretty closer than I expected. I hadn’t liked her that much from the start because of a lot of things… and one of the reasons could be because I had been a little bit jealous of how she was so obviously in love with her husband, and also how she didn’t ever bother to hide it. It didn’t end right there on tne avenue of the wedding, it had also transferred into the way she texts.
I moved closer to the banister and leaned against it a little, as I stared out into the night, watching how tiny looking cars moved around across the house, through the nearest busy road. I had almost completely gotten zoned out in my thoughts when my bright light suddenly got pointed directly at the house. I shifted a little and winced a little, just as a car drove through the gates of the house I hadn't known had gotten controlled to slide open, moments ago.
I knew without a doubt that it was Luca. He was literally the only one who came home here, coupled with the fact that this particular car he had driven home in, was pretty familiar because I’ve seen it a bunch of times.
I couldn’t properly make out the image of Luca when he alighted the car and so I backed away from the banister a little, to avoid being seen, until Luca’s unclear image had moved away from the car, towards the entrance of the door leading into the house. Once the lights of the car had been turned off, and the car was getting parked into place, I moved forward once again to lean against the banister, as I puffed out a deep breath and threw my head backwards a little to move some of my hair off my face without making use of my hand.
The sound of the balcony door getting pushed open made me jolt a little, and I felt myself get frozen up as I slowly turned my head around to stare at the entrance or the balcony, just as the particular image of Ryan coming up here when I had wanted to spend some time up here, I had barely been two to three days married by then.
My eyes landed on Luca in the next second and I bit on my lips a little, as I started to feel the sides of my lips moving apart like it’s about to stretch into a smile, as I watched him start to make his way into the open area, as he pulled the door shut behind me. I stared up at him when he finally paused before me and licked my lips a little, reaching up to tug my hair away from my face a little bit.
“Don’t I get a welcome kiss, bunny?” He asked in a low voice as he leaned his head and spoke directly into my face, his warm and fresh breath hitting my face, and I felt my stomach swoop and tighten up as my face got flooded up with color in the next second, as his words washed over my body.
