Sofia’s POV
“Oh.” I breathed out as I blinked up at him, as I started to wonder what it was that made him start to see me in a way like this, I mean, yes, our marriage was an arranged one, but if he hadn’t liked me for myself, then there was no way he’d have been able to be treating me this way only him had been able to treat me in my whole life.
I could feel goosebumps start to bloom on my skin when Luca’s rubbed his palm over my bare arm, as he tugged me towards him into a hug, as he pillowed his head on my hair and kept on stroking my arm, at this moment, the urge to cry had completely deserted me, and in its place, laid lots of overflowing affection and gratitude. I started to wonder how my life would have been if I hadn’t enter out getting married to Luca, I started to wonder just how I’d have been living me life if I had been married off to another older person that wasn’t Luca, I wonder just how I’d have survived being treated in a way that wasn’t this particular way that Luca was treating me in.
And that thought alone made me press myself against him even more while tightening my hold on his suit jacket.
I wonder if he’d find it weird if I suddenly started to tell him about the fact that I was in love with him, right here in this hotel where I was sure we’d soon be getting to see our other dinner dates.
I puffed out a small sigh against his suit jacket and tried my best not to press my face directly into his suit jacket, because of the fact that I currently have makeup on and wouldn’t want to mess up his suit jacket all because we were exchanging a hug.
I pulled out of the hug after a few minutes and pulled myself until he finally released his hold on my arm and waist, while staring down wearily at me.
“Aren’t we meeting with your friends? I wouldn’t want us to keep them waiting any longer since I remembered you saying they’re already here at the hotel.” I said to him and watched as he quickly glanced at his silver colored wrist water that clung firmly against his left wrist, and I watched as veins littered his arm and hand, making me faintly feel tingles around my throat in that particular moment, along with the faint pressure of that his hand around my neck.
I ducked my head and dragged in a deep breath, shaking my head a little as I tried to push that thought out of my head in the next few moments.
“You’re right, bunny, I think we should get going right now.” Luca’s voice made me lift my head up once again and I nodded my head as soon as his words had sunk into my head.
“Where are they? On the floor above us?” I asked as I skipped my hand into Luca’s outstretched palm and his firm hold closed around my fingers, as he started to lead me towards the doors or the elevator once again.
“Actually bunny, they’re all on the roof at the moment.” Luca said just as the elevator doors started to slide close and I turned my head to stare up at him in surprise.
“Really?” I asked and watched as he stared down at me and nodded his head once, making my heart soar in the next second. I hadn’t kept my hopes up about us having dinner on the roof because for one, I didn’t know Luca was the owner, and a part of me knew I was going to be really glad if we’d get a chance to have dinner on the rooftop.
After that particular dinner date which we had on the roof, I had been unsurprisingly obsessed with being on rooftops ever since then.
“Yes, bunny. We’d all be having dinner there tonight.” He continued and I grinned up at him without even realizing it.
“Oh my gosh, really?” I didn’t wait for him to respond before continuing. “I really love rooftops so much.” I continued, bouncing a little on my feet.
“I know, bunny. You’ve even told me about your love for it once.” He continued with a small laugh and I felt my cheeks start to heat up the next moment.
“Really?” I asked and he gave a single nod of his head.
“I had no idea… I must have forgotten.” I mumbled a little after a few seconds, my cheeks still pinked up in slight embarrassment.
“It’s alright, bunny. We talk about so many things so it’s perfectly understandable and expected for you to not be able to single handedly remember all what we’ve always talked about.” Luca breathed out and I nodded my head and started to perk up as soon as he was done talking and his words had sunk into my head, and in the next moment, I had started to perk up once again.
“And besides, that’s why I decided to give you this particular hotel, it has one of the best view on the rooftops.” Luca pointed out and I felt myself squeezing on his fingers instantly, as a small shiver slide down my spine at the same time.
