Sofia’s pov
What had happened just now? I asked myself as I blinked unbelievably while watching the car which contained the people who had abducted Armani, sped down the streets until they finally disappeared from my sight. I hadn’t even realized I had been sobbing until a few passers by who had probably witnessed the whole thing as it happened, gathered around me but I couldn’t see them until I wiped my eyes.
My whole body was shaking as I pushed myself to my feet and I hated how tears was still falling down my face, but it wasn’t like I could magically stop it from falling. Armani had been kidnapped, and somehow, I knew I was going to be blamed for it– because we had left without the guards, even though Luca had always reminded me of how important it was for me to never go to anywhere without my guards.
I’ve never really believed that Luca had a ridiculous amount of enemies, but what I had just witnessed play out before me, moments ago, was making me think otherwise instantly.
The kind people who had gathered around to ask me if I was okay, or probably because they were nosy, all fit ignored by me as I made way way back into the car to get my phone. The spot where one of those kidnapped had shot at the car was cracked and bent, but the bulled hadn’t been able to pass through because the car was bulletproof. What if he had kissed and had shot me instead? I asked myself quietly as I searched my Luca’s number through the tears pouring down my cheeks.
I was trembling really badly, undoubtedly on the verge of having a panic attack, but I knew damn well that I wasn’t the priority right now, Armani, who finally got home last night after long years, was the one and only priority right now. Luca picked up at the second ring, and a deep feeling of relief washed over me along with his teasing voice as he spoke.
“Hey bunny, how was your day?”
Hating to be the bringer of bad news and also the reason behind it, I bit on my lip for a fleeting moment and felt more tears leak out of my eyes before I shakily started to speak.
At the sound of my voice, Luca instantly knew something was wrong because he didn’t even let me speak before he was interrupting me.
“What is it, Sofia? What happened?”
Before I could respond, he was throwing more questions at me. “Are you hurt? Where are you?”
I sniffed and wiped my eyes a little as I made to speak. “I’m not hurt, but Armani might be.”
Luca went quiet at that at first and I silently cursed myself over for not insisting we didn’t leave the house without a body guard.
“Where are you?” He finally asked and I glanced around a little, noticing how the small gathering of people was slightly increasing.
“Uh, by the side of a mall. Dutch.” I finally responded.
“Where is Armani?” He asked and I felt more tears leak out of the sides of my eyes. Luca was undoubtedly going to hate me, there was just no way he won’t hate me so much after this, even though it wasn’t in purpose.
