Betrothed To The Mafia Lord novel Chapter 387

James’ pov

I was burning up with rage.

Not just because these stupid guys had thought it was wide enough to try to catch me off guard this way. I was more annoyed about this being such a bad timing. I was looking forward to going home to Blair, and now this was happening.

Fucking hell.

I glanced out the rearview mirror once again and saw the guys on the mother bike staring to pull even closer to my car. The one riding the bike was very fast, and the one behind him who was shooting the gun at my car, had a mask over his head. They both do.

I wonder why they haven’t shoot at my tires. That’s the first thing they’re supposed to do if they wanted to catch me so bad, unless perhaps they hope I’d come in with some accident while trying to outrun them.

Just how dumb can these people get?

It seems like people have began to underestimate me too much cause what the hell is this.

I slowly pulled to a stop while reaching for the guns beneath my suit jackets, taking off the safety instantly. There was some more guns beneath my seat, in case of situations like this.

Granted that I rarely get into situations like this, it’s always best to be really safe than sorry, especially seeing as the type of things I’m involved in on a number day.

I opened my door a breath apart and shut the tire of their power bike, watching as they ran into a pole that made the driver break his neck on the spot, which the one shooting rolled off before the bike could topple over him, quickly rolling behind a car super fast.

The street wasn’t completely empty. A few cars were still driving by. A few people were screaming in horror while pointing at the rider of the power bike who was groaning in pain from his broken neck. The onlookers who had got out from their cars to observe the scene were obvious too scared to approach the rider, especially since he still had a mask over his face.

The shooter who has excapsd and was hiding behind one of the packed cars, suddenly shot at my car, making everyone who had gathered to scatter in different directions while screaming.

The man then decided to start shooting consistently, making people abandon their cars and run away in different directions in fright.

The fucker who was shooting at my car without pause, shot at a woman who run into the line of fire. As soon as she dropped into the ground in her own pool of blood, the noises in the air increased drastically along with the anger in my chest.

I slowly slid out of my car and carefully inched towards the other side. I carefully timed myself and began to run through cars. I met a few people who were crouched at the sides of their cars and the screamed in fear but I hastily shushed them and made sure I got to a good spot before taking a clear shot of the guy. It was at his shoulder and he dropped his gun immediately and groaned in pain.

I let out a small scoff and walked towards him, kicking his gun away when he attempted to reach for him. He stood above him and easily caught his leg when he attempted to kick me between the legs, and then I delivered a harsh and firm kick in between his tight, enjoying the way he choked out a chopped groan.

He reached down and pulled down his mask.

“Who the hell sent you?” I demanded but he only groaned in pain. His shoulders was leaking out so much blood, and I didn’t want him to pass out because I wanted to thoroughly question him.

I hauled him up, ignoring his pleas of mercy as I dragged him all the way to my car and shoved him into the back of the seat.

I didn’t bother going for the one with broken neck who seemed like he had passed out, it wouldn’t be bad for him to deliver the result of their failed job to their boss.

The fucker was going to ruin the back of my car seat with his blood, but I didn’t care right now. I’d just have it cleaned out tomorrow.

“Who the fuck sent you to kill me?“ I demanded as I sped off, while hoping that it would take a while for the police to arrive in that scene. I fished out my phone and texted the tech team, they’re going to have to hack into the cctv as fast as possible and wipe that scene off the chip.

“Let let me go, man, please. We didn’t know you would be this hard to take down.” The man groaned out instead. I glanced back at him to see him clutching his shoulder with his other hand, obviously trying to stop the bleeding.

I let out a snicker at that.

“You definitely didn’t think of this when firing at me like a maniac. You even killed an innocent woman, you animal.”

He was definitely going to pay for that. Even after he tells me all that I need to know, he isn’t going to be leaving my vecinity alive.

On pulling into the compound, I motioned to my guards to stop his bleeding and keep him alive until when I’m ready to see him, and then I headed into my house, unlocking the house.

I discarded my suit which was already stained with blood and wore a light shirt and loose pants after taking a quick shower, and then I padded to Blair’s room.

She was in her room alright, but the sight that greeted me, was one of her sitting at the foot of her bed while sobbing quietly.

My heart instantly went out to her and I quietly shut the door behind me. She glanced up to stare up at me, as tears ran down her cheeks and I hastily crouched beside her.

I reached out and tugged her into my arms without hesitations.

Nothing needed to be said, no question needed to be said. She needed comfort and I was going to give it to her how best I could.

She melted against my chest, arms clutching my shirt like I was some sort of lifeline, and that made me hold her even tighter as she sobbed away in my arms.
