As steam filled the kitchen, the sudden vibration of Kyla’s phone sliced through the mist.

Casually drying her hands, Kyla reached for the phone. Her heart sank as she read the termination email from Wall Group’s HR department.

The message was brief and cold, informing her that she was fired, effective immediately.

Shock flickered across Kyla’s face, quickly giving way to a surge of anger.

Her fingers clenched around the phone, her knuckles whitening with the force.

Overwhelmed with anger, Kyla punched in Samuel’s number.

“Samuel, what is the meaning of this email?” Kyla blurted out, not giving him a chance to greet her.
