"No, it's...no." Virginie didn't know how to continue, so she simply asked another question, "Is your relationship with Fleur really that close?"
"You don't need to know that much." Olivier was at the head of his bed, his fur-stained clothes in the trash bin.
It was the clothes that matched with Fleur's.
"It's late. I'll have Raoul send you back later."
"Mm." Virginie nodded sweetly. Olivier was sweet to her as always. Fleur was just a minor hiccup, she thought.
Olivier still liked her.
Virginie enjoyed her glee for a while after hanging up. Only then did she suddenly realized something.
She never said where she was and neither did Olivier ask. How could he send Raoul over if he never asked where she was?
Just then the police arrived.
"Miss Lopez, Miss Leroy has been bailed."
"What?"
"She was bailed and is now released from holding. Someone will fetch her back."
Virginie's breath grew uneven with panic. What's going on? Who's coming to pick Fleur up? She thought in a hurry while running out. She saw Raoul and two bodyguards in the hall.
And Fleur too, who had just exited the cell.
"Raoul Girard, what is this?!" Didn't he come to pick me up? Why is he picking Fleur up?! Virginie yelled internally.
"I'm sorry, Miss Lopez. Mr. Martinez asked me to send you home while Miss Leroy will be escorted back by them." Raoul gestured at the bodyguards.
"What?!" Virginie cried loudly. She could not believe Olivier was the one who bailed Fleur out.
She had thought Olivier would not help at all!
Moreover, Virginie had promised Fleur to let her club staff go. Now that Fleur had been bailed, wouldn't that mean...Virginie had lost all her bargaining chips?!
"I'm sorry. I have no right to question Mr. Martinez's orders," Raoul said.
Virginie's tasted blood as she bit into her lip. She had just been enjoying the feeling of being pampered by Olivier when this happened!
"Virginie Lopez," Fleur sneered. "Did you really think all that news was false? Having that kind of information wiped out so soon not just means hating to see it, but also risk of revealing the truth."
"I am in fact his woman. How could he have me sit in jail? Master Olivier would never let that stain his reputation."
Raoul looked at her with admiration. Fleur was too smart.
Mr. Martinez's original words were: "Get Fleur out of the police station before midnight. My wife can't go to jail, and my grandmother cannot see her granddaughter-in-law have such a thing staining a reputation. Don't let the police leave any records."
Mr. Martinez knew fully well what Fleur had in mind.
Fleur knew exactly what Mr. Martinez's plans were.
"What's kind of relationship do you share? You've barely known one another!"
"The kind of relationship that seeps through bone. Plus, knowing one another for years cannot compare with a couple hours of intimacy. Do you understand?"
"Fleur Leroy!" Virginie cried, unhinged. "You're were scheming! I don't know what dirty trick you used to have Olivier bail you out, that's why you were so confident in taking responsibility! Even persuading me to release your staff! You...you rat!"
