Chapter 233
As there had been no news from David, Yvonne was anxious. So she called him.
But no one answered it though she called several times.
Yvonne frowned and suppressed her grievance in her heart. Then she called Gillian to remind her not to forget about the ball tonight.
Attending the ball was not the main purpose. She actually wanted to introduce Gillian to a person, so that she could attend the Pharmaceutical Association’s meeting in half a month through that person.
Only by this meeting could she truly come into contact with the top connections in this industry and be recognized.
Gillian was eating cereal. She spoke briefly to Yvonne over the phone before hanging up.
She looked up and saw that Jarron had only eaten half a bowl of cereal. before putting it down.
“What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?” Gillian’s eyes were filled with worry. Jarron had lost a lot of weight recently. If he continued this way, his body would not be able to hold on anymore.
Jarron shook his head. “I’m not feeling unwell. I just don’t like it.”
After a pause, he added, “I’m not used to it.”
Gillian understood now. Mala’s cereal could not be compared to that of domestic. Besides, the seasonings were not complete. So the taste was very different.
Actually, Gillian wasn’t used to it either.
Back then when they were at home, the cereal tasted soft and smelled very good though cooked in a simple way. But the cereal here didn’t taste or smell the same even cooked in the same way.
Gillian put down her bowl. “How about this? I give Roland a call to ask him where he bought the cereal. Then I’ll ask him to buy some and mail it over.”
Roland was the head butler of the Smith family. Although he did not live with Isaac and Gillian, he made regular purchases of all the food materials for the Smith family.
So Isaac and Gillian could cook for themselves if they would like to f

not, a woman who was employed part–time would come over to cook for them.
Hearing Gillian’s words, Jarron frowned.
He didn’t really want to get connected with the Smith family, but he really couldn’t swallow this disgusting cereal. He could only silently
agree.
Gillian took out her phone and made the phone call.
Initially, Roland was quite happy to receive a call from Gillian.
He did not care about the fight between Olivia and Gillian. He doted on them equally as he had watched the two children grow up.
Therefore, even though Gillian left the hospital and went to Mala, Roland was still very hospitable and full of respect for her.
But his tone sounded abnormal when Gillian asked where he had bought the cereal.
“Something wrong?” Gillian found it strange. “Was it bought from the supermarket? Is that why there’s no brand? If that’s the case, I’ll have to trouble you to buy some from that supermarket and mail it to Mala.”
Roland’s tone sounded hesitant. “Isn’t there cereal in Mala? Will it be damp and become uneatable if we send it over from so far away?”
Gillian frowned. She was a little unhappy, but she did not show it.
Her tone still sounded gentle. “Roland, I know I’ve troubled you, but the cereal here really doesn’t taste good. Jarron isn’t used to it either. He likes that from our country.”
“I see.” Roland knew now that they didn’t like the food in Mala. “Alright, I’ll get someone to get a few bags and mail them to you.”
“Thank you, Roland.” Gillian thanked him in a gentle voice. In the end, she added, “Roland, don’t forget. I don’t want any other brands. I want the one we usually have at home.”
But not every kind of cereal domestic was delicious.
Sometimes, the cereal cooked in a very high–class restaurant didn’t taste as good as that at home.
The kind we often eat at home!” Roland felt himself in a difficult position. It’s not that easy to get that
Gillian instantly became sensitive.
Wat he hinting that she couldn’t afford it any more?
Each of his words was like a needle piercing into her heart.
She tried her best to put on a gentle expression and said in a gentle tone, “I know that the cereal at home is expensive. Jarron and I have already left the Smith family. We don’t have that much cash on hand. You’re afraid that we can’t afford it, but-”
Before she could finish, Jarron grabbed her wrist, his eyes full of pain.
He did not expect that after they left the Smith family and went overseas, Gillian would be so humble because they could not even afford cereal. Depressed, he snatched the phone away and said coldly, “Roland, we’re not in such dire straits. Although we’ve left the Smith family, we can still afford a few bags of cereal.”
“Don’t…” Gillian quickly grabbed the phone and apologized to Roland with a bitter smile. “Roland, don’t be angry. Jarron just feels sorry for me.” After a pause, her tone became downcast, and her voice was slightly choked. “Roland, don’t you dote on us anymore after we left the hospital and went overseas? Do you treat us as outsiders now?”
“Oh, no.” Roland was anxious. “That’s not what I meant. I watched you grow up. How can I not dote on you? You listen to me that the cereal-” “Don’t say anymore.” Gillian’s tone was sorrowful. “I know that Olivia is now in charge of the Smith family. It’s inconvenient for you to help me. I won’t make things difficult for you. You just have to tell me the brand of the cereal. I’ll find someone else to buy it for us.”
Roland didn’t say anything this time.
After a while, he sighed faintly. “Gillian, you’ve lived for more than 20 years. Why are you still so muddle–headed? You don’t even know about the cereal at home at all. Sometimes, I don’t know what’s in your head. You turn a blind eye to what’s on the surface. Why do you stick to those non–existent and imaginary things?”
