When everything was said and done, the Sorkin family was still second among the big four
families.
Given that Anthony was the heir of the Sorkin family, it was rude for Howard to lecture him in
front of so many people.
Just as he was about to say something, Damien shot him a look that quieted him.
Damien said lightly, “She’s someone Mr. Morrison Senior likes, so she must be quite exceptional.
Isn’t that right, Mr. Morrison Senior?”
Damien had thought that Howard would back down after this, but instead, Howard said, “Even Mr.
Morrison Senior can misjudge someone, right?”
The temperature in the room seemed to plummet.
Eddy frowned. However, it wasn’t because of Howard’s haughty attitude. Rather, it was due to how
he kept disparaging Caroline.
He said coldly, “Mr. Collins, if you say that Caroline is lucky, does that mean you think she has no
skills at all?”
“Of course.” Howard spread his legs.
“If she had any real ability, she would have used Evans Group to get back into the big four families.
No one dared to make a sound.
Eddy gave a cold laugh. “So what you mean is that she’s a piece of trash, and I can’t even compare to a piece of trash.”
Howard blanched as he sat up straighter. “W–what do you mean by that?”
Eddy replied, “Don’t you know, Mr. Collins? I invested in Evanson Corporation. After Caroline
became the CEO of Evans Group, Morrison Corp withdrew its investment.
“Right after that, many of Evans Group’s employees resigned. That means Evans Group had no capital or talent during that time. Caroline handled everything.”

He continued, “But that wasn’t so for Evanson Corporation. It had the support of ample funds, the best designers, the best advertising team, the best sales channels…
“We had the best of everything. But we still failed. Doesn’t that mean that I can’t even compare to a piece of trash?”
No one spoke.
But it wasn’t due to surprise at the information Eddy had revealed. Rather, they were astonished at how Eddy described himself as being less than Caroline.
This was the first time in eight years that they had witnessed Eddy defending Caroline in public. Even Jude and Thomas were staring at him in disbelief.
After a second, Howard managed to force a smile. “Mr. Morrison, I didn’t mean that.”
“But you called Caroline a piece of trash.”
Howard inhaled deeply and said, “I’m sorry. I didn’t have a clear picture of what had happened before I started making unfounded comments.”
“It’s pointless to apologize to me.” Eddy glared icily at Howard.
“I think you had better apologize to Caroline herself.”
The attendees all exchanged glances with each other.
