Caroline frowned at Eddy’s words. He was insane. 

The fact that Layla was his savior didn’t have anything to do with whether she remembered the 

past. 

“So is that why you’ll indulge her unconditionally, even if she almost killed me? You did that just because she had saved you once?” 

Eddy looked at Caroline questioningly. “Do you really not remember what happened when we were children?” 

Caroline asked, “What?” 

“I’m talking about the time when we were kidnapped.” 

Then, Eddy recounted precisely what had happened more than a decade ago. After speaking, he looked at Caroline expectantly, hoping to see some changes in her expression. 

However, his expectations were dashed. 

Caroline shook her head. “I have zero recollection of that incident.” 

“You must have shut those memories away. Grandpa said that you went abroad after that incident. 

Several vague fragments of her memories crossed Caroline’s mind. She tried to focus on them, but she couldn’t recall anything. “But I remember leaving the country because of you.”

“Did you remember it wrongly?” Eddy was silent for a moment. Then, a look of realization 

appeared on his face.

“You went abroad because of the kidnapping incident. Grandpa said you needed psychological 

support.” 

“Psychological support?” Some more memories crossed Caroline’s mind, but they were clear as day this time. 

She had been around six years old back then. One day, Sarah had taken her to a doctor, and Caroline had even pronounced the word “psychiatrist” perfectly.
