Naomi took a bite of food and shrugged. “Chloe isn’t dumb. She wouldn’t do something that stupid.”

Brendan remained silent. He walked over to the dining table and sat down next to Naomi.

Naomi persisted, “I’ve got stuff to do this afternoon. I’ll head back to the law firm later, Get someone to handle those expense reports for me.”
