"So, I think you should know what happens as soon as you make it public!" Oswald responded to Ricky's threat.
"You are right about that. However, you must know that I can't give it away once I get my hands on it," Ricky answered.
"Let's make a deal," Oswald enthusiastically said.
"Oh? What is it? I'm all ears!" Ricky moved closer as he was eager to know about the plan.
"It's very simple. Give me the Blood Crystal. On my end of the deal, I won't let Carney know about your double mutants. I understand that it's your edge against him. If he doesn't know about it, you gain the advantage," Oswald said assertively.
"I believe the Spirit Pool is more appealing to you than the Blood Crystal. Give me the crystal, and I will help you defeat Carney and thus you will win the Spirit Pool. Plus, you are a genius. I know that you don't want Carney to defeat you with so many people watching, am I right?
As soon as you agree with my terms, I can immediately arrange someone to examine Carney's strength for you.
Otherwise, I'll do the exact opposite and test your strength for Carney's benefit. Your choice."
"Ha-ha, can I just say that this deal is very tempting? However, it seems that you have nothing to give out in this whole deal. Where's your risk? I don't believe that you'll hold up your end of the bargain. You have to do better than that, or else I won't accept this deal." Ricky gave him a quick smirk.
"Well, in that case, you have already lost a third of the advantage in this round," Oswald said indifferently. He did not expect that Ricky would turn down his proposal so decisively.
"Ha-ha, just wait and see!" Ricky retorted.
"Kenney, I'll make sure to give you a thorough beating this time.
No one shall challenge me. Even if gods dare to do this, I will only make them taste my raging anger." Carney clenched his fists as he threatened Ricky at this time.
"Well, I get where your anger comes from. However, I will also let you know what happens when you offend and bully my friend," Ricky responded in the same ominous tone.
Soon after, the two of them stood in front of each other and began to fight their way to victory.
Ten rounds of grueling battle had passed, and every round was won by Ricky. Out of the blue, a thought crossed Ricky's mind. 'Maybe Chief Langston favors me and wants to make this easy for me. All my opponents seem weaker than me.'
This was not an absurd thought, though. All the people who were there could feel it, too, but they chose not to make any comment about the matter. After all, Ricky would definitely be a core disciple. Although Langston gave him a favor, he could only rely on his own strength when dealing with Carney.
As for Ricky's friends, Soar and Hugh made the top ten. As for Amanda, it was unfortunate that she failed.
On the other hand, some of the remaining twelve disciples were unconvinced about the result. This led them to have several hours of battle until they filtered out ten of the strongest core disciples.
However, there seemed to be an unfamiliar face among the top ten core disciples. It was a young man clad in black who looked ordinary in every way, so it was kind of difficult to tell if he was a truly a strong warrior or not.
In no time, the people started to whisper among themselves upon noticing this young man, just like what they did when they first met Ricky.
All the people in the arena knew the whole purpose of this fight.
It was to determine who was stronger between Ricky and Carney.
"Attention! To all the ten core disciples who have been identified, you can get your corresponding rewards after entering the Spirit Sect," Langston announced. "Now, all that's left is to fight for the top spot. As you all know, there will be an extra reward for the one who gets the first place. I'm sure you have already known about it."
All the creatures who heard it were quite shocked. After all, the Spirit Pool was devilishly wanted by any living creatures below the spiritual emperor realm.
"Now, you will fight inside the Small World I create. The last man standing will win an entrance to the Spirit Pool at once."
Soon after, Langston waved his hand, and his Small World appeared in mid-air.
"Now, who is brave enough to enter first?"
"Sir." The young man raised his hand and took a step forward. "I am Charles Kong, and I want to be the first one," the young man, Charles Kong said without hesitation, which was beyond everyone's expectation.
"Oh, so he is Charles!"
