Boss,I'm Not Your Stand-in Gilrfriend novel Chapter 3

After that, I did not want to stay in Denver another day. I packed up my belongings and returned to my hometown immediately.

When my parents learned of my divorce, they were both stunned. When they realized the situation, my father was silent and just fumed, while my mother could not help but say, "Divorce is no big deal, but you should not walk out of the house penniless. He's the one who made mistakes. Is not this a good thing for him and that bitch?" At that, she lowered her head and sobbed.

I comforted them, "I don't need him anymore. He can do whatever he likes. From now on, I will focus on myself so that I can brink back what I lost"

My mother still persisted, "But... but you will suffer!"

I was driven by the emotions of my parents. My wounds were scabbed over, but my eyes were moist. I had no choice. After a few days of being so sad, I figured I could not have the whole family crying every day. So I started going out again. Days passed and I began to look for work around my hometown, but I could not find a suitable one.

After spending the new year holiday at home, I returned to Denver. It was not that I still had attachment there but just that I had stayed here ever since I was 18 years old. I had been here for several years and was more familiar with the life here.

I found a job as an assistant in Denver, which was my familiar ground. First, I did chores and didn't have to do the important work I applied for. I just often ran errands. I rented a house near the company. After a period of time, my life was became stable again.

One day, when I was about to get off work, my boss, who always kept a straight face, suddenly said to me, "Darcey, here is a document. Take it and send it to this address."

After that, I immediately went to do it. Although I felt a little uncomfortable, but it was a task assigned to me so I couldn't refuse. I took the address and documents and quickly head out.

The discomfort on my body came and went quickly. I felt better before I reached the destination. It seemed that people still have to go out and walk frequently, so I didn't take this matter to my heart.
