Brendan hastily elaborated, “Alex, what are you saying? No matter what, I wouldn’t dare to bully Elise.”

The two people were talking when the door of the dressing room was opened. Soon, Elise gracefully appeared in front of them in a white dress and they stared at her in awe at once. Alexander’s gaze was full of appreciation; when he saw the dress before its alteration, he had already appreciated Brendan’s skills in design. Now that he saw the improved piece today, he only felt that Elise was more capable than Brendan.

“Not bad,” he complimented. “It’s gorgeous.”

As for Brendan, he was filled with incredulity. He was aware of his own design skills and that he was definitely one of the best designers in the country, but when he saw this dress in front of him, he had to admit that he had been too conceited. Elise’s design was very bold as she incorporated traditional craftsmanship into her work, which enhanced the entire gown’s artistic sense. Moreover, with her alluring figure, the gown looked absolutely flawless. If his gown could be called a good design, then Elise’s modification had only transformed into a work of art.

“Elise, I finally understand the meaning of your words. Your choice of material is not only light, but also beautiful while lending a floaty, airy sense to the dress,” he spoke with conviction. Then, he went up and carefully looked at the dress before noticing that all the stitches were done by hand, yet there wasn’t a slightest problem with it. So, it was clear that her skills were definitely not lower than his. “How did you manage to finish such gorgeous work in one day, Elise?”

When she saw that everyone was satisfied with her work, Elise replied, “Actually, I only made certain modifications from your design. It has already achieved the effect I wanted, so what do you think of it?”

“I didn’t expect you to have such talent in design.” Alexander nodded in approval. “However, this embroidery style of yours seems a bit familiar.”

He felt that he had seen it somewhere before whereas Elise reacted in time. She knew that her own works would always bear remnants of her unique style, but as Alexander and Brendan might not have seen any of her works before, she replied, “I just thought it looks perfect, therefore I embroidered it.”

Alexander didn’t think much about it and replied, “This dress suits you well, so wear it.”

Brendan also added, “Alex, since this dress was modified by Elise, we’ll exempt the design fee, but Elise, I want to discuss with you about something. Once your engagement party is over, will you leave this dress in my store as a showcase of our designs?”

Elise didn’t have any opinion because engagement dresses like this were only worn once in a lifetime, so it was fine to display it in his store. “Sure, I will do that.”

He was overjoyed when he obtained her consent. Then, Alexander mentioned, “Go and change out of the dress; I’m going to take you somewhere.”

After she nodded, she went to the dressing room, after which she entered the car from the design studio. Then, the car started before they drove out. “Where are we going?”

Alexander wore a mysterious look. “You’ll know in a moment.”

As she felt that he had always been mysterious, she casually asked, “Did you prepare a surprise for me?”

He nodded without any hesitation. “Yes.”

Upon hearing that, Elise did not hold back a snort of laughter. “I was pulling your leg. Why did you say yes?”
