Broken Memories, Intertwined Hearts novel Chapter 342

Ethan frowned, thought for a while in his place, and then went to hug Ines again. This time, Ines didn't resist him as strongly as before, she struggled a bit and then let him pick her up.

After Ethan carried Ines back to the bedroom, he went into the study, just about to take out his cell phone when Ashley's call came in. Upon answering, Ashley's angry voice immediately came through, calling his name.

After Ines and Ethan left, Ashley immediately dialed Leila's number and surprisingly, it got through. It only took her a few seconds to figure out what was going on. "Ethan, are you out of your mind? Why are you still keeping the phone number of a deceased person and even keeping it topped up? How is Ines supposed to take this? Have you ever thought about how heartbreaking it would be for her to see this? Can't you forget her or what's wrong with your brain? If you can't forget her, why would you pursue someone as wonderful as Ines? I don't even know what to say about you, doing such a crazy thing."

She had so much trust in him; she didn't expect such a disappointing thing to actually happen.

Ashley went on a rant, Ethan couldn't help but frown, saying in a deep voice, "Ashley, I'm your cousin. You shouldn't be so rude."

"I don't care who you are to me, even if you were my father, if you did something like this, I would still criticize you bluntly. Even if I told anyone in the family, you would just have to accept the criticism. What on earth are you doing?”

"Ashley," Ethan said in a deep voice. He understood why Ashley was angry and asked, "Did Ines say anything to you tonight?"

"Do you think she would tell me directly? She asked me some weird questions, I felt something was off, so I asked Aaron for Leila's number, and only found out when I called." Although Ashley was angry, she still explained to Ethan.

"Can you really get through when you call?" Ethan asked skeptically.

"I have no reason to lie to you. I'm telling you, if you lose Ines, you'll never find another woman who can tolerate you like she does. She loves you so deeply, not caring about your status and position. You think about it. I don't want to talk to you about this now. It's really infuriating."

After Ashley finished, she suddenly hung up. Ethan listened to the busy tone on the phone, feeling a headache.

He found the situation hard to believe and quickly dialed the phone number that he hadn't dialed in several years. After entering a few digits, the screen displayed the number along with the label Leila.

He checked the call log, sure enough, during the time at the Galeana Group, Ines had dialed Leila's number, and after he came out of the bathroom, she hadn't had time to delete it.

Without a doubt, he knew Ines must be overthinking. Ethan's anger resulted in Lucas being the unfortunate one. Lucas had just embraced his wife ready to sleep when Ethan's call made him sit up immediately, quickly switching to work mode, got up and went to the balcony, energetically asking, "Mr. Meyer, do you have something to tell me?"

"I'm asking you, why hasn't Leila's phone been disconnected?" Ethan asked directly.

Ethan remembered very clearly, after marrying Ines he had cleaned up all traces of Leila, so what was going on now? Leila's number suddenly appeared in his phone contacts, and the number was still usable. Originally, Leila's number should have been disconnected a few years ago, why hadn't it been disconnected yet?

Lucas suddenly realized something. It was rare to see Mr. Meyer so angry, he forced a swallow and said hesitantly, "I...I topped up a lot of credit at that time, maybe it hasn't run out yet."
