Burn the Marriage, Keep the Crown novel Chapter 101

Aaron's eyes darkened.

"I won't be seeing Cynthia anymore."

Serena froze for a moment, then looked up at Aaron with a knowing smile. "Really?"

She didn't believe Aaron for a second.

Men and their sweet lies.

Aaron nodded.

Serena pressed on, "Alright, let me ask you this: if Cynthia committed a crime, would you turn her in?"

Aaron frowned. "What crime are you talking about?"

"I'm speaking hypothetically."

"I don't answer hypothetical questions."

Serena gave a faint smile. Was it that he wouldn't answer, or that he didn't dare?

"Does Cynthia know we're getting married?"

Aaron rubbed his temples, irritation creeping in at Cynthia's name being brought up in every other sentence.

"Can we not talk about her?"

"Fine," Serena replied with a light laugh. "You mentioned the invitations have been sent out. Shouldn't the bride-to-be receive one too?"

Aaron pulled out his phone, only to remember he was still on Serena's blocked list.

"Unblock me first so I can send you the e-vite."

"No need, just have Victor send it to me."

Aaron sighed. In the end, Victor sent the electronic invitation to Serena through the messaging app.

"Alright, you can leave now." Serena waved her hand dismissively, as if shooing away a fly.

Aaron's expression shifted multiple times, but when Serena kept her head down, engrossed in her phone, with no intention of acknowledging him, he reluctantly left.

The fact that Serena didn't make a scene after the invitations were sent out surprised Aaron.

What he didn't realize was that the wedding held significant value for Serena.

Since Cynthia Lynwood had been making her life difficult, Serena wasn't about to let Cynthia have it easy either.
