Burn the Marriage, Keep the Crown novel Chapter 116

Serena demanded, "So, what's your point?"

"Stay away from him, or you'll end up just being another pawn in his game," Aaron warned.

Serena scoffed, "Aaron, you're the most hypocritical person I've ever met."

"Didn't you promise me you'd stop seeing Cynthia Lynwood? Yet, you went to see her anyway. How do you have any right to demand anything from me?"

Aaron's expression darkened. "When did I ever meet her?"

"Oh, please. You're still lying? Didn't you take her to the amusement park?"

Aaron was momentarily taken aback. In the whirlwind of his busy days, he'd nearly forgotten.

"I took Cynthia to the amusement park because she was leaving Alderburg the next day. Her only wish before leaving was for me to accompany her there."

Serena was tired of arguing with Aaron.

Once someone has broken a promise, it could happen again for other reasons.

"Has Cynthia Lynwood really left Alderburg?" She found herself more interested in this point now, especially with their wedding on the horizon. Cynthia's departure seemed unlikely to her.

"Yeah, she left on a flight around four this afternoon. If you don't believe me, you can check."

Serena replied, "No need."

With Cynthia Lynwood gone, would the wedding really proceed without a hitch? That was the last thing Serena wanted.
