Burn the Marriage, Keep the Crown novel Chapter 41

Under the watchful eye of the security camera, the captured images were remarkably clear. Even when magnified significantly, the picture retained its crispness. This allowed Aaron to clearly see the figure, whose eyes were filled with resentment, staring intently ahead. And right in front of her was Serena.

The revelation sent a shiver down Aaron's spine. He couldn't believe that someone in Alderburg harbored such animosity toward Serena.

"Find out who this woman is!" he ordered, his voice tinged with urgency. Serena's mysterious disappearance might be tied to this woman.

Frederick cast a casual glance at the screen and replied nonchalantly, "No need to investigate. That woman is Maggie."

"How do you know?" Aaron asked, his face etched with surprise.

Frederick chuckled, "She's Cynthia Lynwood's close friend. You claim to be so enamored with Cynthia, yet you don't recognize her bestie? That's quite unusual."

Aaron's expression shifted multiple times, but with the pressing need to locate Serena, he had no interest in explaining to Frederick that he had no romantic feelings for Cynthia Lynwood.

"Why does she despise Serena so much?"

Frederick scratched his head, bemused by Aaron's obliviousness to matters of the heart. "It's quite simple. Imagine if someone stole your best friend's partner. You'd have a bone to pick with the homewrecker too, wouldn't you?"

"I wouldn't," Aaron replied flatly.

Frederick sighed, "Of course you wouldn't."

He realized Aaron wasn't the best example for such situations. "Anyway," Frederick continued as he settled onto the nearby couch, "I heard at the restaurant that Maggie and Serena had a heated argument. Do you want to see the footage?"

Aaron frowned, "Play it."
