Burn the Marriage, Keep the Crown novel Chapter 80

This was enough to show who held more weight in Mr. Vance’s heart.

The crowd's eyes fell on Serena with sympathy.

Vivian strutted over to Serena, her chin held high. "See that? My brother will never choose you."

Serena smiled slightly and picked up a glass of water, pouring it slowly over Vivian's head. "Miss Vance, don't provoke me. Next time, I might just show you what it feels like to drown."

Vivian wiped the cold droplets from her face, looking at Serena in shock.

Was she crazy?

Did she really dare to humiliate her again and again?

Wasn’t Serena afraid that Aaron would never speak to her again?

Serena set down the glass and walked away with her head held high.

It was only when she stepped into the elevator that she placed a hand over her chest.

Though rationality told her she no longer loved Aaron, her body seemed reluctant to accept it.

A dull ache lingered in her chest.

Before the pain could subside, Serena exited the elevator.

Right now, nothing mattered more than freedom!

Samuel had arranged a car for her at the side gate.

Once she got in, she could leave Alderburg behind.

She had to thank Vivian for bringing Cynthia Lynwood along. Without that distraction, her escape wouldn't have been so smooth.

Serena hurried out of the hotel.

She immediately spotted a silver sedan—a low-profile vehicle, perfect for a getaway.

Just as she reached for the car door, she heard a jovial laugh behind her. "Miss Sullivan, running away?"
