Burn the Marriage, Keep the Crown novel Chapter 82

Serena wanted to refuse.

But the car was parked right outside the wall.

If Aaron walked out of that door and saw the car, he would immediately understand that she was planning to escape.

Absolutely not! There was no way she could let Aaron find out.

She had no choice but to let Aaron lead her into the front hall.

When Aaron wasn't looking, she shot a stealthy glare back at William.

William sat in his wheelchair, a faint smile playing on his lips.

It wasn't until Serena's figure completely disappeared from his sight that the smile slowly faded into a look of melancholy.

...

Serena was practically shoved into the Rolls-Royce.

Inside, there was a lingering scent of a woman's perfume.

There was no doubt it belonged to Cynthia Lynwood.

The thought that Cynthia had just left in this very car made Serena feel nauseated.

She pressed herself against the door, trying to make herself as small as possible.

Aaron got in and immediately noticed Serena's disgusted expression, as if there was something filthy in his car.

Then he glanced at the shoes she was wearing, finding them even more of an eyesore.

With a loud bang, he slammed the car door shut.

Serena jumped, not having time to react before her legs were lifted.

"What are you doing?"

Serena was a bit bewildered.

In the next moment, her sneakers were removed, revealing her smooth, delicate feet.

Before she could figure out what Aaron was up to, he suddenly leaned in, his dark eyes burning into hers.

Serena's breath caught as she stared into the face so close to hers.

She was an adult and understood all too well what the intensity in Aaron's deep eyes meant, but she wasn't worried in the slightest.

After all...

Aaron had always deemed her unworthy.
