Burn the Marriage, Keep the Crown novel Chapter 84

William was the third son in the Grayson family, with two older half-brothers. Ever since William became disabled, his brothers were seen as the prime candidates to inherit the family business, leaving William, once the golden child, out of the running.

Serena knew that marrying into the Grayson family would be like diving into deep waters. But at least...

She walked over to the window, thinking. Aaron could exploit the financial issues at L.S. Entertainment to bring her back. Next time, he might find another way. To completely sever ties with Aaron, partnering with William seemed like the most feasible option. Besides, although life in the Grayson household would be challenging, at least she would be free.

Just then, a smooth, charismatic voice came through her phone: "Miss Sullivan, have you changed your mind so soon?"

Serena glanced down, realizing the call had somehow connected without her noticing. She took a deep breath, ignoring the teasing tone in William's voice, and cut straight to the point: "Mr. Grayson, I agree to the partnership, but I have one condition."

"And what might that be?" William's voice resonated through the phone like a deep cello note.

"Since we're in a business arrangement, there's no need to fulfill marital duties, wouldn't you agree, Mr. Grayson?"

William chuckled softly, amused by her straightforwardness: "Ah, Miss Sullivan is concerned about matters of the bedroom. Tell me, what do you think a cripple like me could possibly do?"

Serena hadn’t expected William to be so blunt, and a blush crept up her cheeks. "Mr. Grayson, when can I leave Alderburg?"

"No rush. Let's meet tomorrow and discuss it further."

"Alright."

She knew she needed a solid plan to distance herself from Aaron for good.
