Burn the Marriage, Keep the Crown novel Chapter 86

"Mr. Vance? Aaron?" Serena leaned against the wall, barely managing to stay upright.

"Yes." The nurse took a step closer, pulling an A4 sheet from her pocket. "Your kidney just happens to be a perfect match for Miss Lynwood. Mr. Vance wants you to donate your kidney to her. Here's the consent form he signed. Miss Sullivan, as long as you cooperate, Mr. Vance will see to it that you're well compensated."

Serena felt as if she'd been struck by lightning.

Trembling, she snatched the consent form from the nurse's hand.

Seeing Aaron's distinctive, flamboyant signature, her heart skipped a beat.

Aaron's signature was famously difficult to imitate.

There was a time when she was obsessed with trying to replicate it but could never quite get it right.

Yet, she remembered every curve and flourish of Aaron's signature perfectly.

So...

This signature was undoubtedly Aaron's. It couldn't be a forgery!

Serena bit her lip. "Whoever agreed to this donation, go ask them. I'm not going to consent."

Dr. Owens smiled slightly. "Miss Sullivan, this is Mr. Vance's wish. Do you think anyone in Alderburg dares to go against his will?"

As they closed in, Serena gripped a chair tightly. "I said, whoever wants my kidney, they can come get it themselves!"

"Since Miss Sullivan is being so uncooperative," Dr. Owens' expression darkened, "don't blame us for resorting to force."

With that, he swung a golf club at Serena.

She raised the chair to block the blow.

The nurse seized the opportunity to jab a needle into Serena's arm.

Serena gritted her teeth against the pain and swung the chair at the nurse.

The nurse took the full force of the blow to her head and staggered backward.

Dr. Owens, panicking, raised the club again, aiming for Serena's head.

Sensing the attack, Serena swiftly caught the club just before it struck.

The doctor was stunned.
