Burn the Marriage, Keep the Crown novel Chapter 90

After giving his instructions, Aaron turned to Serena. "What now?"

Serena replied, "I don't trust you. We’ll talk after it’s notarized."

Aaron said nothing more.

The operating room fell silent once again.

An hour later, Julia arrived.

Seeing the situation inside, he paused in surprise. "Mr. Vance."

Aaron glanced at him briefly. "Give me a pen and paper."

Julia handed over the requested items.

Aaron wrote something on the paper. Once Serena reviewed it and found everything in order, he signed his name in the bottom right corner.

Julia affixed the seal.

With that, the agreement became valid.

Serena shook her handcuffs. "Unlock them."

Aaron looked at Matthew.

With just a look, Matthew, though reluctant, took out a key and released Serena from her cuffs.

Finally free, Serena shoved Cynthia Lynwood in Aaron's direction and bolted away.

Only a fool would trust that agreement.

Aaron caught Cynthia as she collapsed into his arms. Glancing back up, Serena had already vanished from the doorway.

"Aaron... Aaron..." Cynthia Lynwood's faint voice emerged from his chest.

He looked down to see Cynthia's face as pale as snow, as if she might melt away at any moment.

"I... I feel terrible... Am I... am I going to die?"
