After speaking, Aaron strode over to Serena’s hospital bed, "Transfer her to the general ward."
“Aaron…” Matthew stepped in front of the operating table.
Aaron's gaze turned icy, "Is there a problem?"
"Even though the hospital director has found a suitable kidney donor and they've agreed to donate, it's only a verbal agreement. What if they back out…"
Aaron narrowed his eyes, "Then I have countless ways to make them agree."
"Aaron..."
Aaron frowned slightly, "Matthew, what's gotten into you? Don't you want Cynthia to get better?"
Matthew looked at Serena on the bed, his expression unwilling.
This was the perfect chance to eliminate Serena.
In the future, he feared there would never be such an opportunity again.
With this thought, his gaze suddenly changed.
He grabbed a scalpel and lunged towards Serena's chest.
As a doctor, he knew exactly where to strike for a fatal blow.
Everything happened too suddenly.
No one had time to react.
They only saw a shadow flash as someone stepped in front of Serena.
Then, with a sickening thud, the knife plunged into flesh.
When everyone realized what had happened, their faces changed dramatically.
It was Aaron who had taken the fatal stab for Serena.
Matthew stood frozen, murmuring, "Why?"
Aaron wasn’t supposed to care about Serena.
Why would he take the knife for her?
Aaron looked down at the scalpel, just inches from his heart, and then back up, his eyes icy cold. "That's the question I should be asking you—why did you attack Serena?"
Matthew laughed bitterly, "Why? You know why. Without Serena, you and Cynthia would have been together long ago! She's the other woman, what's wrong with me wanting to eliminate her?"
