Call me Alpha (Aiden and Ashira) novel Chapter 61

Chapter 61:

Ashira’s POV

In spite of Nick’s motivation and hard work to held a pack party, he succeeded. After three days of preparation, the party is ongoing tonight at the pack’s clearing.

Nick insisted for a wild party so he picked a bonfire theme in the heart of the Prime’s forest where booze and feast are served. I sat in the man-made stage together with the officials of the pack, and Aiden beside me.

The pack people has started eating, drinking and dancing. Everything is so peaceful and they are fun to watch.

“I got bored with this loud get-together.” Seth said out of the blue. He does look bored as he sip on his drink. Ava chuckled beside him.

“You’re just no fun!” Nick said as he bob his head with the music. “Having a mate made you guys no fun!!!” And I think he’s a bit drunk.

“Oh yeah? I think you are just too horny, looking for some wild chick.” Seth teased.

Aiden and I laughed when Nick started his tantrums. He look so childish blushing and embarrassed upon hearing his friend said that.

I wonder when Nick finds his mate. He’s the same age of Aiden and Seth yet he hasn’t found his fated one.

“Do you think Nick will find his mate soon?” I whispered to Aiden. His arm is stretched on my shoulder, rubbing his fingers on my arm. I don’t need a coat despite the cold of the night, Aiden’s warmth is enough.

“Maybe this year.” he smiled and kissed me on my temple. Aw! We are outside and he still acts so sweet! Okay, I need to get used with his gestures. I don’t think he will change anytime soon.

“How did you say so?”

“His…” he looked at me and seems hesitant to add his words.

“His?”

“Nick’s sexual urges are unusual these days so I guess he will find his mate this year.”

Wow! That’s a thing? Oh, my! I can’t wait to see a mated Nick! He is so loyal to the pack, works beyond a pledge and once he found his mate, I know he will be hell-bent inlove with her!

“What’s with the sexual urges though?”

Aiden squinted his eyes at me as if he was studying if I’m being serious with my question. What’s wrong?

“Male wolf like us experiences an unusual thirst when we are about to meet our mate soon. I was surprised you didn’t know that, you seem knowledgeable with pack rules and traditions.”

So that’s their cue, huh?

I shrugged, looking away. “I’m not interested with the mate bond before and given less attention with mate-related topics.” I admitted. That’s true, though.

He leaned closer to me and even without looking at him, I know he stares at me.

“Hmm,” he hummed, retreating the words he wanted to utter. My huge guess is he wanted to tease me! “Well, I’m glad you still came here for the ball even though its for your favor.”

I snapped my eyes to him and found that playful smirk on his face. “I didn’t!” Liar, Ashira! You did wanted to meet your mate to escape the danger of your abnormality!

Argh. How fast my guilt has eaten me.

Aiden chuckled and pulled me closer. “I’m just teasing you, baby.” he kissed my forehead. “I need to give some words to the pack. I’ll be back.”

I watched as he walked to the highest corner of the stage, taking everyone’s attention. The pack people looked at their Alpha with eyes full of admiration and love. While I look at my mate with overwhelming pride.

He earned the loyalty of his people because of being himself, a good leader, tough and righteous.

Holding my belly, I thought of my unborn child.

‘Quillon, if you really came out as a boy like your father said, you will soon set foot on the same spot your father stands right now. And I know you will be just like him. Fearless with a heart for his people.’

I smiled imagining my unborn child. I found another reason to fall in love with this life.

“Everyone enjoying the night?” Aiden started that made the people howl and cheer, showing how lively there were tonight. “That’s good.” he chuckled. “As everyone know, these past months were not as well and peaceful but rest assured that every struggles has been solved. This night is a way to thank the Heavens and the Moon for giving their guidance, and also to celebrate a great news.” he turned and look at me. “Our Luna has blessed our pack with a ruler descending from my blood, a gift from the Moon Goddess to tighten the strength of Prime!”

“Luna! Luna!”

I stood up and wave to the people and I can’t stop my eyes from getting wet for the tears of happiness that threaten to fall down my cheeks.

Howl and screams of pleasantries echoed the forest and I laughed from how lovely this evening has become.

“Enjoy the rest of the evening.” Aiden said as his closing remarks. I can’t help but remember how he said the same words during the Mapping Ball. The only difference is his vibe. He looked more carefree now than before, more light, not soft but not too tough either.

Just an Alpha in his best mood.

“Can I have a dance?”

I didn’t realize I was too drowned with my own thoughts to not notice Aiden’s reaching hand. I arched an eyebrow at him. The party music is playing again right now and I’m not sure if he does want me to dance wildly tonight.

“Uh, I’m pregnant.” I said in a hesitant voice.

Aiden looked somewhere and the music was changed into a slow, romantic song.

I laughed and received his hand. We walked to the middle of the crowd and the people seems like a sea swayed by a ship, moving away and giving us our space on the dancefloor.

Aiden carefully placed my hand on his shoulder, kissing the back of my palm first before letting it go. His arms found its place on my waist and his eyes are sparkling with the fire’s light from the bonfire.

I can’t stop smiling. I never thought that dancing with someone you love can give this kind of emotions. A feeling so deep that I forget the people around us, drowned with the world we build just for us.

Aiden leaned forward and I closed my eyes when his lips touched my forehead. “There’s a lot of things I regret…” he whispers, pressing his forehead with mine.

His eyes are closed, he looks so peaceful yet troubled.

“Which are?” I pry, closing my eyes, too. Feeling every moved, every touch. Hearing his breath, the sweet music, my heartbeat.

“A lot. But first is not dancing with you at the Ball.”

I chuckled. “You should regret that. I looked awesome that night and now you have a big belly between us as we dance.”

Aiden chuckled. “You are beyond amazing even until now, baby. Our child made you even more beautiful though I would like to squeeze you in my arms right now and he is getting in the way.”

I laughed and slap his shoulder lightly. “Don’t bully him! He might come out any moment if you keep complaining.”

“Oh, he should. He kept getting my way a lot of times.” he pulled away and looked at me with a huge grin on his face.

“How could you say that!”

He pouted his lips, and I know he is thinking about something again!

“This will sound selfish, baby, but once Quillon is born, I promise you more sleepless night.”

My cheeks flushed hot from the thoughts that run to my mind because of what he said! I can’t believe this guy!

Aiden chuckled and drew me closer to him. I quickly rested my head on his chest, hiding the embarrassment given by my naughty mind while Aiden just laughed more.

“I hate you.” I mumbled.

“You don’t mean that.” he countered.

Hmp! “Yeah, I don’t.”

Aiden chuckled and planted soft kisses on my head. “I love you, baby…” he whispered and I blushed even more.

I kept on hearing those words from time to time but I still love how it sounds in my ears. That husky, sweet, soft voice saying those words just gave more sincerity and I felt how true it is from hearing the beating of his heart.
