"There's something urgent at the company, Jack went to the office!" Carl frowned in front of Victoria, curiously asking, "What were you doing this afternoon?"
"I went to the hospital." Since the DNA test was already done, Victoria didn't hide it from Carl.
As she spoke, she walked to the sofa and saw the sliced watermelon on the fruit platter. She casually forked a piece and ate it.
"What? To the hospital?" Carl became nervous, "Why would you go to the hospital all of a sudden? Are you sick? Where does it hurt? Tell Jack quickly!"
As Carl spoke, he took out his phone, looking nervous, ready to call Jack.
Victoria quickly reached out to stop him, and the corners of her mouth twitched, "Calm down! I'm not sick!"
Carl was relieved and let out a long sigh of relief, "I was scared, I thought something happened to you. So why did you go to the hospital when you weren't sick? Did you visit someone?"
"It wasn't to visit anyone, it was to do another DNA test with the Preston family." Victoria briefly explained the DNA test, and also told Carl the results."
Carl sat down on the sofa next to her, rubbed his chin, and pondered, "So, both Michael and Ralph suspected that the results of the first DNA test were inaccurate, so they secretly did it again. What then? According to the results of this test, there is really no connection between you and the Preston family?"
Victoria nodded, swallowed the watermelon in her mouth, and said, "I'm originally from the Montgomery family."
Carl was the first to complain and protested solemnly, "Victoria, those ungrateful people from the Montgomery family are not your family. Putting the Montgomery family together with you is humiliating you!"
"Victoria," Carl raised his eyebrows and smiled suavely, "since You have married Jack. From now on, Jack, me, and our grandfather, we will be your family!"
Victoria felt warm in her heart, and her lips curved into a smile, "Why are you so good with words?"
"I was just telling the truth!" Carl raised his chin and smiled brightly.
"Oh, by the way!" Carl suddenly remembered something and asked warily, "Did that guy named Hunter look for you again lately?"
"No." Victoria shook her head and raised her eyebrows in surprise, "Why do you care about him?"
"Where's the concern? I'm helping Jack guard against rivals!" Carl declared righteously.
Victoria was bemused...
Love rival...
Carl leaned close to Victoria and asked in a mysterious voice, "Victoria what's going on between you and the Hunter? Tell me, I promise not to spread."
Victoria looked amused. With his gossiping mouth, who would believe it?
"I just knew him before." Victoria didn't want to elaborate and gave a simple answer.
"When we were in Manchester some time ago, why did he take you away? Is it with ill intentions, plotting to cause trouble?"
Victoria was also puzzled about that. Hunter mentioned that she had promised him something in the past, but she hadn't figured it out yet.
"Jack said that he took you to a seaside villa?" Carl scoffed, "Tsk, this guy is quite romantic."
"Romantic?" Victoria listened with amusement, "What's so romantic about it? Hunter is a bit afraid of water."
"Afraid of water?" Carl was amazed, "Is it true? A guy like him is afraid of water? Is he pretending?"
Victoria sighed softly.
When she was acquainted with Hunter before, she learned some about his past.
When Hunter was a child, he was often abused by his parents, and his body was covered with beating marks. Old wounds were still unhealed, and new ones were added. On his sixth birthday, he was thrown into the swimming pool by his mother.
