In the corridor outside the ward.
Carl followed Victoria out, wanting to hear about the surveillance footage.
The restaurant manager looked worried and asked anxiously, "Miss Montgomery, Mr. Carter, how is Mr. Moore now? Is he injured anywhere?"
Victoria didn't reveal the truth, only vaguely saying, "He's in the ward now, his health is not serious."
The restaurant manager let out a sigh of relief. Fortunately, everything was fine!
If something really happened to Mr. Moore, it would be troublesome. The implications would be too extensive!
However, the restaurant manager was very curious about the relationship between Victoria and Mr. Moore.
Not only did Mr. Moore save Victoria in the first place, but Victoria was specifically accompanying the injured Mr. Moore at the hospital. What was their relationship?
Curious, but he didn't dare to ask.
Victoria continued to ask, "Did you check the surveillance?"
"Miss Montgomery, as soon as you instructed yesterday, I arranged for someone to check the surveillance, but..." The restaurant manager frowned, paused, and said, "I don't know what happened, but since yesterday at Six in the evening, the surveillance in our restaurant suddenly went off, stopped working, and didn't record anything..."
Six in the evening?
Victoria thought about it and realized that it was around the time she arrived at the restaurant.
Was it a coincidence?
It was obvious that someone did it on purpose.
"The surveillance is broken?" Carl looked puzzled. "Isn't that too coincidental? Abnormal coincidence."
The restaurant manager's forehead dripped with cold sweat, and he nodded repeatedly, "It's not normal, so after knowing that the surveillance was broken, I asked the staff to recall the situation at the time, and there happened to be a female waitress who photographed a suspicious person."
"Suspicious person? Where are the photos?" Carl immediately asked.
"Here, I brought them over." The restaurant manager immediately took out his phone and pulled up the photos from the album.
Victoria and Carl looked down. The photo was like a snapshot, very blurry. It was a man with a black duckbill cap, and his chin and half of his face were vaguely visible.
Explaining, the manager said, "The waitress was slacking off, not doing her job properly. She was taking pictures of the scenery outside the restaurant with her phone and happened to capture this man with the duckbill cap. He also came to eat, but he took a private room alone. When the waiter brought the food, he found the man was gone, left for some time. It seems strange in hindsight."
Victoria's eyes were stern. When she went to the restroom yesterday, someone locked the door outside.
Victoria glanced at Carl.
Carl immediately understood and said to the restaurant manager, "Send me this photo."
He wanted someone to investigate who this man with the duckbill cap was.
After the restaurant manager left, Carl looked at Victoria beside him and asked suspiciously, "Victoria, when my brother and I went to the restaurant to look for you, why weren't you in the private room? Instead, you were in the lobby on the first floor?"
Victoria said, "I went to the restroom, and as soon as I walked in, I noticed a movement outside. I turned around and pushed the door open, only to find that the door was locked, and I had to kick the door open."
"Oh, there's this too?" Carl furrowed his brows. "I'll immediately have someone check who this man with the black duckbill cap in the photo is. Once we find him, we should know what happened."
Victoria nodded. That was all for now.
The two returned to the ward, and the old man was sitting in front of the bed, watching over.
But Jack still quietly closed his eyes, only the sound of light breathing could be heard, other than that, there was no trace of reaction, as if falling into a deep sleep.
From morning to afternoon, the hospital director and doctors came over several times to check on Jack's physical indicators.
The results were stable, but there were no signs of recovery.
