Came Back as an Heiress After My Ex-Fiancé Made Me Blind novel Chapter 32

"You are really something," he teased, his tongue lightly touching his cheek where she had slapped him.

It was the first time someone had slapped him across the face, but he wasn't angry.

After all, it was Victoria.

In fact, he rarely got angry with her.

Victoria was still quite drunk, oblivious to the fact that she had just hit someone.

She found it amusing, laughing with her eyes crescent-shaped and sweet.

She even patted her own face.

Jack quickly caught her hand, preventing her from hitting herself.

Thankfully, he intervened in time, preventing her from leaving any mark on her face.

Watching her charmingly tipsy and innocent appearance, Jack couldn't help but chuckle softly, shaking his head helplessly.

Dealing with this little tipsy creature was really beyond him.

The butler prepared some hangover tea and brought it over.

Jack had him place it on the table, waiting for it to cool a bit before giving it to Victoria to drink, so she wouldn't burn her mouth.

The butler placed the hangover tea on the table and left the room, leaving Jack alone with Victoria. It seemed he would be staying here to take care of Miss Victoria for a while.

Sitting on the edge of the bed, Jack helped Victoria sit up, allowing her to lean on his shoulder. He picked up the hangover tea and tested its temperature; it was no longer hot, just warm enough.

"Here, drink this," he said.

Victoria looked at the dark liquid in the bowl, wrinkling her nose in distaste. She spoke with a slight slur, "Wh-what's this?"

Jack curved his lips, coaxing her gently without any psychological burden, "This is your favorite drink, Victoria. Give it a try?"

Saying that, he brought the bowl to her lips.

Victoria, like a three-year-old child, pushed him, wanting to share the delicious thing with him. "You should drink too!"

Jack lowered his eyelashes slightly, glancing at the tea that she had taken a sip from. He paused for a moment, then lowered his head, taking a small sip.

They drank from the same cup, sharing the same bowl of tea.

"I've had some; the rest is all yours," he said, offering her the bowl again.

Victoria obediently held the bowl, drinking it sip by sip until it was empty.

Jack took the bowl from her, placing it aside. He continued to let her lean on his shoulder, asking, "Do you have a headache?"

"Nope!" Victoria wanted to prove that she really didn't have a headache, so she shook her head.

Her soft black hair brushed against his neck, tickling his skin, creating a subtle itch that seemed to reach his heart through his nerves.

Jack's eyes darkened suddenly, and he was about to speak when Victoria's phone rang.

Picking it up, she glanced at a spam message.

With her slow mind, she pondered for a moment but couldn't understand it. She went back to the home screen, saw her wallpaper, and brought it close to her face, murmuring something softly.

Jack leaned closer to hear her words. "Dear, you are so handsome?"

Jack's eyebrows furrowed, taking her phone and seeing a cartoon character as her wallpaper.

Jack almost burst into laughter.

She called him either an enemy or a dog man, and now she was calling a cartoon character dear and saying he was handsome?

Jack's eyes narrowed dangerously, and he pressed her phone onto the bed. Suddenly, he called her full name, his tone sharp, "Victoria, who are you calling dear?"

Victoria looked at him, still bewildered.

Jack lowered his eyes, his gaze unusually deep. "Who grew up with you since childhood?"

Victoria blinked her eyes, her mind slow to respond.

He continued, "Who told you stories every night when you were a child?"

Victoria blinked her eyes again, trying hard to recall.

"Who helped you with your homework and skipped class with you when you were little?"
