Can't Get Away With You novel Chapter 18

Tania knew clearly that there was no need for Lois to worry about Maggie living in Gu Family at all. No matter how cruel Joey was, he would not leave his child behind. Half-blood of the children was from Lois and the other half was from Joey. There was no reason for them that a child would be abused by her step-mother in such family. Gu Family would never allow such a scandal to happen.

To say the least, although Joey loved beautiful people and didn't love children, Sally couldn't fool Mr. Gu and his wife casually. At that time, they would take Maggie to Gu Family's old house and raise her up with the two of them. The child couldn't be more aggrieved than being with his mother, Lois!

But she couldn't say these words. In the past five years, only Maggie had lived in Lois's life. If she said these words, Lois would lose the courage to live on.

Tania knew very well that Lois couldn't lose Maggie at the same time as she lost Joey. It was more accurate to say that she wanted to escape from reality and take away Maggie, who was the only connection between her and Joey, to live in illusions and memories than to completely disappoint at Joey by giving up this marriage.

"Lois..." Tania hesitated and looked at Lois worriedly.

On the bed, Lois held herself tightly in her arms. She was exhausted, but she couldn't relax. She just liked suffering from delusion, feeling that everything around her was dangerous. She didn't dare to relax her vigilance, fearing that the sudden danger would kill her.

All she could think about was the shadow of Maggie. Her every move and smile, from learning to care about people, from sweet memories to a layer of sadness. Lois hugged herself more tightly, as if Maggie was in her arms.

In the end, sadness could not be resisted by exhaustion. Her deeper breath slowly slowed down, and finally turned into low sobs and choked dreams

Tania turned her face away and cursed in a low voice with red rims of eyes. She was afraid that Lois would be trapped in nightmares and wanted to wake her up. But when she saw her pale and haggard face, it was obvious that she was lack of energy.

Tania measured whether Lois needed more rest or was hurt by the nightmare.

In the end, Tania gave up waking Lois up. Of course, she knew that Lois just wanted to see the child. As long as she saw Maggie, she would be much better.

But Gu Family wouldn't give her the child. Even if Joey agreed, Joey's parents and elders might not agree.

"Maggie..." Lois sobbed in a low voice. Tania clenched her fists, trying to weigh the pros and cons.

Finally, she had the upper hand in love. She turned around and left the ward. She told the nurse to pay more attention to Lois and drove away from the hospital.

Tania went to the law office and found someone to draw up a divorce agreement. The only difference between the divorce agreement and Lois's was that Lois would not keep any property, and the child would be left to Joey to raise.

Tania drove to the gate of Gu Consortium's building. The Maserati was parked at the gate of Gu Consortium's hall. The company security came downstairs in a hurry and greeted, "Miss, your car can't be parked here..."

"Fuck off!"

With the black briefcase in her hand, Tania shook off the security guard's hand, turned around and stepped on the steps.

When the receptionist saw Tania, she also stepped forward and stopped her, "Miss, do you have an appointment?"

"Your boss's wife is dying. What kind of appointment do you want?" Tania pushed the receptionist aside rudely and entered the elevator.

Joey looked at the patient information on the table. He always knew that he was not a qualified husband, but he did not expect that he would make the person who married him so painful.

Anxiety, depression, fear and other mental diseases caused by long-term depression
