Can't Let Go novel Chapter 118

  The night came.

The sky was lit up again.

A round and bright moon was hanging in the sky.

Linda Yun was sitting on the sofa at the balcony. She curled up and looked at the moon, being absent-minded.

The wedding was held today, and it was 15th August. She liked it very much.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is a festival meaning reunion.

The moon was also at its most beautiful time.

Her mom used to make moon cakes for her in 15th August every year.

And those moon cakes were that with osmanthus flavor.

She tilted her head on one side and looked at those plenty of costly moon cakes placed on the table inside the room.

These desserts were sent here by the business partners of Michael Huo, and each box of them was expensive.

But, she even had no interest to open them.

  The wind outside got bigger.

She curled herself up more tightly.

  Then, the door was opened.

  A tall figure appeared.

With fast pace, the man picked up a blanket on the bed, and walked to her.

"I’ve told you many times that don’t come out to get blown at the balcony!" Michael Huo soon covered her tightly with the blanket and then, he sat beside her, hugging her.

Linda Yun looked at him and asked smilingly "How is she?"

Michael Huo looked at her eyes, said in an upset tone, "I left you behind, and you got angry, right?"

"No." Linda Yun smiled slightly and answered "Even if she were an outsider, and got fainted at our wedding, as the hostess, we should take care of her. Besides, she is not an outsider, after all."

Michael Huo looked at her eyes obsessively, saying, "Don’t worry. I know what I’m doing. And I won’t do this next time."

Linda Yun leaned in his arms gently, and said still with a voice as light as wind "It’s nothing. I get that. I understand that Susan is very special to you..."

Michael Huo didn’t say anything, but the strength he held her shoulders obviously got bigger.

"I heard from Jennifer that Susan and you were childhood friends, you had spent time with each other for more than ten years. Even though there was no love between you, there would be affection of family. Besides, your mom told you that she was your fiancee when you were a child. So you would not treat her as your younger sister..."

  "Linda Yun!" called Michael Huo.

"Listen to me!" Linda Yun noticed that he was anxious, so she said at once, "Hear me out."

Michael Huo stopped and even hugged her tightly.

Linda Yun stayed in his arms and looked at that moon again, saying gently and quietly, "I’m not jealous of her. That is your past, and everyone has their past. I am even grateful to her greatly. Because of her, you grow into a so perfect man. I am just like a thief. I stole away the man who gave her all hope..."

"No, it’s not like that!" explained Michael Huo, he got worried.

Linda Yun put her hand on his lips. She looked at the man, saying, "Susan saved your life. She was not only your benefactor, but the benefactor of us. We owe her, so we need to treat her parents well to pay back to herin the rest of our life. As for the next life..." She smiled and said, "Just as what your mom had said, there was no next life, so let’s stop talking about it."

"Linda....." Michael Huo got a little speechless and his voice got a little hoarse at once.

Linda Yun touched his cheek, looking at his slightly red eyes, saying, "Today she got fainted and you rushed to her because you had mistaken her as Susan. And I believe that the scene that she saved you six years ago is what you cannot forget. As for the purpose that when she got fainted, you mistook her as Susan, and wanted to save her promptly, I thought it might be that you wanted to make up for her, right?"

Michael Huo was stunned. He always knew that she was more mature than her peers.

But what was more out of his expectation was that she could be so smart and considerate.

Today, he did mistake her as Susan.

He could never forget the moment when the accident occurred and Susan jumped on him.

Their car hit a truck with goods in front of them,

letting along rebar fall from the car.

She barely hesitated and jumped on him.

The rebar got through the glass and straightly stabbed into her back...

The blood in her mouth sprayed to his face and got his eyes red.

Today, her despair look, and the scene that she heavily fell down,

made his mind absent, then he could not control himself and rushed to her.

The man didn’t say anything, and the strength in his hands got bigger, making Linda Yun feel some painful.

HIs reaction had already proved her guess.

She felt sorry about him since she knew that this kind of feeling was painful,

which just like that she felt when she often dreamed about uncle Steven Meng even though one year had passed.

She also had been blaming herself too. If it were not because of her, uncle Meng would still be alive.

This self-accusation tortured her every night when it was quite, let alone visiting uncle Meng at cemetery every time.

So, she got that, and understood him.

Today, the lady whom he feel guilty about showed up, even it was not the real her.

But that face did make people confused.

"I’m sorry..." Michael Huo held her in his arms tightly, and put his head around her neck, saying, "Six years ago...Six years ago..."

  He began to sob.

"I saw her.... saw a rebar stabbing through her body when she saved me..."

His body shaked violently, and said "Though I had never truly loved her, I don’t dislike her, and even I got used to her existence. I got used to her showing up every day and troubling me every day...She was always optimistic and would pretend to be gloomy from time to time. But it was not until the rebar got through her body...that I firstly see the real melancholy in her eyes.

Linda Yun was trembling because of his words.

She didn’t know the things happened six years ago.

But now, hearing this man’s statement, she felt uncomfortable in her heart.

  Susan loved him,
