Can't Let Go novel Chapter 40

  It rained harder and harder.

The wind also blew stronger and stronger.

The whole sea looked extremely horrible.

The two had to find a shelter from rain.

But at this moment, there were masses of dark clouds in the sky, blurring the vision on the islet.

Luckily, Linda Yun grew up in the countryside, and had done everything ranging from harvesting millet, transplanting seedlings in rain to catching fish.

Even though it was now raining hard, she had to remain calm. She knew that she had to find a shelter from rain.

Or else, once night fell, there would be danger at any time on this desolate islet.

However, respected President Huo had never experienced such hardships!

He walked slowly all along the way, and his temper was also as somber as the weather.

Linda Yun wanted to leave him alone. But now, there was nobody else on this islet except for him.

If there was any wild beast coming out, she couldn't cope with it.

Therefore, she would turn around and looked at him on and off while she was walking.

Their shoes were soon stuck with sands at their feet. There was an inexplicable smell in the air that was suffocating.

Linda Yun pulled down twigs with one hand while looking around.

She wished that she could find a shelter from rain.

However, it kept raining harder and harder, blurring the vision all the time.

Linda Yun wiped the rain s in her eyes, and her glance suddenly fell on a giant rock in the distance.

Looking back at the man behind him, she waved her hands hastily, Hurry up! It looks like there is a rock formation ahead of us. "Let's go there and see if we can find a shelter from rain."

Before she could finish these words, the man's face suddenly became sullen. Presently, he strode forward.

He reached out his hand and pressed it against the back of her neck violently while pulling her forcefully into his arms.

Linda Yun bumped into the man's bosom heavily at once.

The intense bump knocked her tears down instantly.

"Are you insane?" Linda Yun pushed him violently, and roared in his arms with red eyes.

"Don't move!" The man's hoarse voice thundered above her head presently.

"What do you want to do? Let me go!"

The man held her in his arms, and stepped backwards.

Linda Yun raised her head, and the man suddenly appeared quite serious.

Slightly frowning, she followed his eyes and looked backwards.

  Then she gasped deeply.

There were two green snakes twirled beside the twigs she had just stirred.

  "Freeze!" He pushed her backwards.

Then, he picked up a twig on the ground and immediately poked the two snakes away.

The two snakes swam away subconsciously as soon as they fell into the ground.

  Linda Yun was struck dumb.

  She feared nothing but snakes.

When she was a child helping her mom harvest sweet potatoes in the field, she had been bitten by a snake, and that was a poisonous one.

She was rather terrified that time.

She had been scared of snakes ever since!

The man moved forward for a few steps, turned around and looked at her.

The chick stood there, trembling with arms around herself. Her little face was quite pale.

  "Are you scared of snakes?"

Linda Yun bit her lips. She could only feel numbness in her scalp, and couldn't even move.

"Will you go or not?" Michael Huo couldn't help saying again on seeing that she remained silent.

The chick didn't utter anything. She stood there quietly, soaked in the heavy rain, and her pitch-black eyes suddenly became dull at this moment.

Michael Huo swept his dark eyes over her faintly.

Last second, she had still been lively, now she became so desolate and sad. Such changes really made people uncomfortable.

What on earth was she thinking about?

Michael Huo knitted his eyebrows at once, and a stroke of deep hostility swept across his eyes.

He walked to her, grasped her waist with a poker face. Presently, he laid her down held her in his arms, and walked forward.

The sudden hug made Linda Yun recover from shock at once.

In the rain, the man said nothing, and walked towards the rock formation by following what she had just said.

Soon, he found a small cave.

It was not spacious inside. There were some withered branches, and a pile of dust that had been burned down.

  Apparently, someone had been here.

After placing her on the stone stool inside, Michael Huo resolutely put those dry branches in the center

and lit them with a lighter.

Shortly afterwards, there came a sizzling sound of burning flame from inside the cave.

Thanks Linda Yun moved her eyelids, and made great efforts to maintain normal utterance of those words.

The man said nothing. He lowered his head, pressed the back of one of his hands with his other hand while frowning.
