In Starlit Sky Coffee shop, Linda Yun looked at the man inattentively before her.
He wore a spotless white shirt, straight suit pant, clear and bright hand-made shoes, soft hair with regular hairstyle.
But it was the simple dress that had set off his clean, handsome and bright temperament.
"Are you all right?" The man spoke softly. His voice still had the familiar rhythm, clear and pleasant.
Her hands were intermingled uneasily and her eyes were dodging.
"I am fine!"
It’s only after a long while that she answered slowly.
Her phone rang for the third time.
"Don’t you pick it up?"
Linda Yun took up her phone in a hurry. There was no name, only a string of numbers.
Then, she switched phone to muteness and made it upside down on the table.
Again, she looked up at him.
But this time, there was no dodge in her eyes.
Six years!
He had gone abroad for a good six years!
The precipitation for six years would shape him with greater maturity.
The man before her was familiar and strange at once.
In a moment, Linda Yun looked at him and forgot to respond.
"You are wandering again?" The man habitually reached out his hand and beated her forehead lightly.
Linda Yun was puzzled and then naturally leaned back.
But her naturally avoidable behavior made George Mo’s hand stop in air in embarrassment.
Her eyes were full of dodge. She suddenly just felt so embarrassed.
"Sorry, sorry..."
The phone vibrated again.
Linda Yun turned the phone over. There still were the familiar numbers.
"I’m sorry. I have something else to attend to. I’m leaving now." She said and stood up holding the phone.
"You’re married, aren’t you?" George Mo suddenly spoke.
Linda Yun was stiff at once.
"Is he good to you?"
Linda Yun looked down at him. Her lips trembled and said, "he is kind to me, thanks!"
"Kui says your marriage is sham, is it right?"
Linda Yun said nothing but her brows had been knitted.
"Kui has told me that you have no choice but marry him. You have your own difficulties and you don’t love him!"
"I don’t know what you are talking about." She said and wanted to leave quickly.
However, George Mo immediately grabbed her wrist.
Linda Yun looked around and saw his hand holding her wrist.
"Why don’t you come to me? I’ve left you my cellphone number? Why don’t you call me once? Why does your cellphone number become dead?"
George Mo was extremely aggressive.
Linda Yun was silent. They did left numbers for each other when he went abroad.
At that time, she was ignorant. But she was still excited about his confession, so they contacted frequently.
Until one day, there came his mother sound from George Mo’s phone
[Nian, Guang won’t come back to China and don’t contact anymore.]
It was also because of this that she had changed her cellphone number.
"I even don’t know that your mother has passed away. I don’t know what you have suffered from. Why aren’t you willing to come to me? I’ve always been here, you know. With just one phone call from you, I’ll come back to you!"
Linda Yun said nothing and just felt distressed.
"Nian, let me help you!" George Mo spoke again, "just like the way it was when we were children!"
"Hey, what are you doing?"
Before Linda Yun could say a word, there came a familiar male voice.
Linda Yun was stunned and turned around. Michael Huo stood at the doorway with a dimmed face. His eyes fell on her like iced needle.
The next second, the man had come. When he saw George Mo’s hand holding Linda Yun’s wrist, his smile was full of sarcasm.
George Mo looked up at him and loosened her hand.
"Why don’t you answer the phone?" Michael Huo looked at Linda Yun and she was surrounded by a cloud of oppressed and dimmed eyes.
When she felt depressed, the man easily pulled her in his arms.
This behavior made Linda Yun want to reject without reason. She wanted to escape. But he held her so tightly and there was no possibility for her to move.
"Why dont you introduce your friend?" Michael Huo’s hands held her shoulders with great strength.
Linda Yun titled her head and looked at him with slightly knitted brows.
"Hello, I’m George Mo. ‘Im Nian’s cousin!" George Mo took the initiative and reached out his hand to greet him.
The man squinted his eyes and stared at him with light smile, "cousin?"
"Yes, the cousin has been protecting her from small to large! And also who will be protecting her in the future!"
"Since you were children? Childhood sweethearts?" Michael Huo’s lips were slightly upturned and said the eight words with strong tone.
George Mo’s look changed at once.
"Don’t be so nervous, I’m just kidding." Michael Huo said and there was a smiling curve on his face. He titled his head and looked at Linda Yun with dark eyes. He said faintly, "didn’t we agree to go home together? If we don’t go now, dad will be so worried about us!"
The man used his long finger to lift her chin and sneered, "I have something crazier. Do you want to have a try?"
The words fell and before she could react, the man held her lower jaw quickly and kissed her lips with a crazy and slightly punitive act.
"No..." Linda Yun purred and wanted to push him away.
However, the man was aggressive and put her on the copilot’s seat to kiss her. He was so aggressive that she couldn’t move an inch.
He reluctantly stopped kissing her lips when he felt the woman beneath him was hard to breathe.
"Bastard!" Linda Yun swung a slpa towards him without thinking.
The man stopped her hand in air, took her wrist and fiercely pulled her into his arms.
Then, his indifferent face dimmed with a cold and malicious voice, "don’t let me see you showing inappropriate facial expression to other men. Otherwise, you know what will become of you!"
Linda Yun’s brows were knitted. She wanted to take hand back. But he held it tightly.
"You are Mrs. Huo, my wife!" The man reminded again.
Linda Yun didn’t say a word, just her eyes were colder than before.
After a long while, the man finally loosened her wrist.
He stepped on the accelerator
Then, they left here in car.
In Yun’s house, when they arrived home, James Yun had ordered people to prepare a table of dishes.
Although he was strongly unsatisfied that Linda Yun married Michael Huo.
He judged from the tone of Mary Yun’s word that Michael Huo wouldn’t divorce her temporarily.
So, he would naturally take advantage of it. No matter who married him, it was fine as long as she brought interests.
"The another Miss is back, hello, dear sir!" Mrs. Feng smilingly bowed and scraped as respectfully as she could.
"Nian has come back?" James Yun laughed happily and came out quickly.
"Father," Michael Huo called with a smile.
But Linda Yun didn’t speak and even wasn’t willing to see him.
James Yun saw Linda Yun didn’t call him, which made him feel embarrassed.
"Nian has come back!" Maria Gu also hastened to welcome Mr. Huo, "please come inside. On hearing you are coming, we have prepared from the morning!"
James Yun hastened to come up and talked with Michael Huo.
Seeing this, Maria Gu immediately took Linda Yun’s arm and said gently, "Nian, are you getting better? I have always been wanting to see you. But it’s inconvenient in that I have caught a cold, I’m afraid of infecting you!"
Seeing this behavior, it was really hard to believe that was the stepmother who called her a fox a week ago!
Linda Yun’s lips were ironically upturned.
One takes on the color of one’s company.
Doing everything to please others. The idiom was acted out perfectly by them.
