Can't Resist the Billionaire novel Chapter 34

I didn’t know if it was Vincent's fault, or Christopher's fault, or my fault?

Why did Christopher treat me like this the moment Vincent appeared? And before this, he had never given up on me no matter how difficult it was.

Vincent sighed in anger and said in a huff. "I don't care, stupid woman!"

After that, he hung up the phone decisively. But I, in the face of his curse, gave a helpless bitter smile and didn't take it seriously.

Although Vincent was violent and overbearing, he wasn't a bad person. He didn't have that many bad intentions. I also believed that what he told me was true, but I just couldn't accept it. Why did Christopher betray me like this?

Was he willing? Or was he forced to do so? These were all things that I had to confront him face to face!

After more than three hours of traveling by train, I finally returned to S City with my suitcase. We returned to our home. The moment I opened the door, I hesitated for a moment. Although the small door was not thick, it blocked the way of my marriage. I knew that once this door opened, anyone who greeted me might be estranged from Christopher!

After hesitating for a moment, I decided to open the door. Christopher did not expect me to return so soon. He did not even call him before I returned. So he seemed to be a little surprised when I appeared at home.

"You... why did you come back so quickly?" Christopher hesitantly stood up from the sofa. However, he looked at me in a daze. He had even forgotten to pull up my luggage for me!

He noticed that there was something wrong with his expression and asked. "What's wrong, Christopher?"

Christopher smiled awkwardly. "No, nothing. I was just a little surprise!" Only then did he remember to help me move my luggage inside.

As soon as I entered the living room, I heard the door of our bedroom ring. My sister-in-law Naomi and a girl about her age came out of our bedroom. The girl was wearing clothes in famous brands and looked like a miss from a rich family!

When she saw me coming back, she looked at me in surprise and asked Naomi. "Who is this?"

Naomi didn't know whether it was intentional or not. She explained to the girl. "This is my brother's girlfriend!"

"Oh, I see!" That girl sized me up and gave me a strange smile. Her gaze swept across my body and landed on Christopher's face, whose meaning was unclear.

I did’t know if I was a little sensitive or what was going on, but I keep feeling that this girl seemed to have a strange relationship with Christopher.

However, her relationship with Naomi seemed to be unusual as well. What exactly happened in these two days after I left?

"Wait a minute, I remember there seems to be a vacancy of clerk in the company. If you think it's suitable, I'll ask Vincent tomorrow!"

After making up my mind, I deliberately told Christopher who was behind me that I had a seat. Christopher knew that this job didn't match Naomi's major, but he nodded his head with satisfaction. He said to me again. "I think it should be okay. After all, Naomi doesn't have much experience. She can intern for a while and gain some experience!"

"Well, you can talk to Naomi later. If she think it's suitable, I'll ask for her!"

"You're so nice, my dear wife!" Christopher sat down on the bed intentionally, probably because he felt that his attitude wasn't as stiff as before. He gently laid down beside me while teasing me. Suddenly, a feeling of disgust welled up in my heart. Without thinking, I reached out and flung his hand away from my waist.

My actions were a little rude,  so that he stood there in a daze. It took him quite a while to react. However, he didn't have the slightest bit of temper or complaint to respond to my cold and indifferent reaction. He just stood there in a daze. Only after a long while did he sigh quietly. He stood up from the bed and said. "Rest well. I'll go out and cook for you!"

I had already done it so obviously, but he still didn’t mean to get angry. It could be seen that Vincent is actually right. He knew everything about what happened between me and Vincent, and he even acquiesced."

At the thought of this, I suddenly felt a little wronged and started sobbing. I was the only one in the bedroom right now. Christopher had gone to the kitchen. Even if I were to cry, he wouldn't be able to hear it at all. But for some reason, I chose to hold the blanket and sob quietly.

At that moment, I finally felt what was called the feeling of death in my heart. My four-year relationship, my first love, everything had been gone. For this feeling, I had paid everything, and I had wiped out the disdain and indifference of others. But in the end, what did I get in return?
