Watching Landon's anxious, bloodshot eyes, Angelina felt a pang of heartache.

He thought he was considering her and that he was selfless and great, but he never considered whether Lauren wanted this and could bear it.

"Landon, although you and Lauren both come from wealthy families, you're two completely different beings from two different families. What you ought to do is immerse yourself in her gentle world with ample love and patience.

"Not disregarding her feelings and forcibly tying her to you. And certainly not isolating her from the world, cutting off her normal social needs, and confining her!" Alyssa accused him vehemently.

When she released her grip on Landon, he actually staggered weakly.

"I've told you countless times that what you're doing is of no benefit to Lauren's condition. You should let her go out more. Let her make friends and have her own life instead of keeping her like a caged canary!"
