"Firstly, I didn't know this was a narcotic, Chief Olson," Jasper explained calmly. "As you mentioned, this is a new drug that's only emerged in Solana City over the past two months. Most people haven't encountered it yet. Even someone as informed as you likely just started learning about it. How could I have known?

"Secondly, I wouldn't have taken it if I'd known it was a narcotic. I'm dealing with health issues right now. Taking drugs would only harm me further. Why would I jeopardize my own life? Why would I not want to live a long life?"

While Rio mulled over the situation, Steven interjected with a serious tone. "Chief Olson, I strongly suggest questioning Dr. Gillis as soon as possible. If she's the one who provided my client with these medications, she would know their source.

"If the pills found in Mr. Beckett's office are indeed Crystal Ice, then Dr. Gillis is highly suspicious. As a private physician with unrestricted access to the Beckett residence, she could easily have planted the drugs in Mr. Beckett's office."

Late into the night, Javier sat in the study at Seaview Manor, his chest tight with unease. He was deeply troubled.

Rory stood behind him, giving him a massage.

"Why… Why would Jasper take drugs? He's not the type of person to do that," Javier muttered.

"Please take care of yourself, Dad," Justin said, placing a cup of tea in front of him. "I'll handle Jasper's case. I'll do everything I can to secure his release and minimize the damage to Beckett Group."

"How do you plan to minimize it?" Javier frowned. "The news is already out. Our stock price will plummet as soon as the market opens tomorrow."

Justin remained calm, a faint smile tugging at his lips. "Once we secure Project A5, the stock price will hit the limit up. We'll recover all our losses then."
