Chapter 85 

Alyssa looked at the handsome man in front of her.

He had sunk down on one knee while looking up at her affectionately.

“I heard that my dear sister wants to punish ine.” The man’s lips curled into a mischievous smile.

“Axel…” Alyssa murmured in a soft tone.

“Whew! I was so relieved when I heard you call my name.”

Axel Whitaker was the fourth scion of the Taylor family. No one would have thought that a cold and distant man like him was capable of smiling at his sister brightly.

He wrapped a muscular arm around Alyssa’s waist and held her tenderly. Then, he stuck his other hand into his trench coat’s pocket and fished out a bar of chocolate. Axel proceeded to tear open the packaging with his teeth before feeding the chocolate to Alyssa

This chocolate bar is a local specialty at Artoria. Besides, it’s your favorite as well. Give it a taste.”

“Axel!”

Alyssa leaned forward to hug Axel tightly. For some reason, she felt like crying all of a sudden

Soon, her tears started staining Axel’s shirt.

There were a few reasons behind her emotional breakdown. Alyssa missed Axel a lot, but at the 

same time, she felt guilt toward Newton and anger toward Liana. She was also frustrated by the

fact that she couldn’t craft the emerald bracelet.

Deep down, Alyssa still suffered from the disappointment and heartbreak Jasper had caused her.

“Lyse? Are you crying?” A surprised Axel caressed the back of Alyssa’s neck gently.

“No…” Alyssa replied moodily.

“Are you sure about that? The front of my shirt is completely soaked, you know.”

“I said no!” Even though Alyssa sounded all choked up, she still denied the fact stubbornly

Axel knew that his sister was a prideful woman and had rarely cried since she was a little girl

Hence, he decided to keep his mouth shut.

He continued hugging Alyssa instead while coaxing her gently. A dull ache throbbed from his

heart when he saw her sobbing.

Axel’s return marked the end of Jasper’s peaceful life. That was for sure.

Silas gritted his teeth in annoyance. “Damn it, I can’t believe that guy got to act cool in front of

Lyse! She never showed her vulnerable side in front of me! How the hell did Axel pull that off?” 

“Since Axel landed the helicopter on Stellus‘ grounds, the damages he caused to the tiles and the

greenery must be massive.” 

Jonah shook his head with a small sigh. “Remember to let Axel know he’s responsible for paying the damages he caused to Stellus.*
