Caught In His Embrace A Second Chance Romance novel Chapter 381

Joyce, before this, Josiah used Joyce to force Sienna to agree to his proposal. But now, that threat was gone.

Sienna let a gentle smile spread across her face. "Joyce is my daughter. I'll take good care of her, so you don't have to worry."

Sienna didn't dare mention the successful bone marrow match. Knowing Josiah's impulsive nature, she feared that if Josiah found out, it might cause trouble.

Sienna thought, 'Though I don't think Josiah would hurt our kid. But I hadn't thought he would use Joyce to threaten me before.'

"Can I be at ease?" Josiah repeated her words, his eyes darkening before a mocking smile spread. "Are you counting on the fact that even if you dump me, I can't abandon Joyce?"

Sienna thought, 'Really? Is that his true thought?' Her eyes widened in surprise. Sienna had considered this before. But she never dared to risks with Joyce and didn't try.

Hearing this, Sienna felt a warmth in her heart. She sighed softly and said quietly, "I appreciate how good you are to Joyce. If you're willing, you're always welcome to visit Joyce. Just give us a call beforehand."

Sienna slowly lifted her hand, took off the red diamond ring from her left ring finger, and placed it on the table. Then, she picked up her bag and stood up.

Sienna took off the red diamond ring, and Josiah's heart trembled. Josiah realized Sienna was leaving. Sienna didn't want him anymore. Once she walked away, he would no longer have any reason to keep her.

"Sienna!" Overwhelmed by panic, Josiah opened his arms and hugged Sienna from behind. Since Sienna was facing away, she couldn't see the humble and sincere expression on Josiah's face at that moment.

Josiah's cheek nestled in the crook of Sienna's neck as he begged her. "Don't leave. I won't let you leave." His voice started to break, "I'm begging you, please don't leave. What am I going to do without you, Sienna? I can't be without you."

Josiah was already living like a solitary person, and to him, Sienna was not just a lover but also a family, a kindred spirit. Sienna was his connection to life and the anchor of his soul.

Leaning passively in his arms, Sienna closed her eyes and let out a light, gentle laugh. "There's no such thing as can't be without. No one is indispensable in this world."

"When I first got to Fliraty, I also thought I couldn't survive. But look at me, I made it through," Sienna said, recalling those years in Fliraty, her gaze turning cold and hard.

With a wry smile, Sienna said, "Trust me, people aren't so fragile. You'll prove to be even stronger than I am." She lifted her hand to clasp Josiah's arm, attempting to pull away.

"Let go, back then, I didn't hold onto you when you left, and now, please let's part amicably. Can't we break up on good terms?" Sienna asked.

"Back then?" Josiah suddenly wrapped his arm around Sienna's waist, turned Sienna to face him, and held her chin with one hand. "Are you still upset with me over what happened back then?"

"No," Sienna shook her head, her eyes calm. "I completely understand now; you can't force feelings. I don't blame you for not liking me back then, and I need you to understand and accept that right now. I don't like you."

Before Sienna could finish speaking, Josiah tightened his grip on her chin, causing Sienna to wince in pain.

"Don't try to make it sound so grandiose. Just be honest. You don't care about Joyce and insist on breaking up with me. Is it because of my background? Because I'm no longer Mr. Flynn?" Josiah asked.

Josiah's eyes filled with bloodshot cracks. "Because I'm a fake, do you look down on me, think I'm not good enough? Is that right?" His shout was filled with despair and vulnerability.

Sienna frowned deeply, seeing clearly. She thought, 'Maybe I admit it will make him give up for good, which won't be bad.' She took a deep breath and nodded. "Yes, that's correct."

As the words left her mouth, Sienna cried out in pain, feeling as if her jawbone had been broken by Josiah's grip.
