After hanging up the phone, Howard carried the medicine and water upstairs to find Miranda. "Grandma, it's me, Howard," he said.
"Come in," Miranda said, leaning against the headboard. She was wearing reading glasses and holding a book.
"Grandma, it's time to take your medicine," Howard said and handed her the medicine and water.
Miranda has recovered physically since Josiah left the Flynn residence, but her spirits remained low.
"Alright," Miranda said and took the medicine.
Howard, remembering Josiah's request, said, "Grandma, don't stay cooped up at home all day. Go have some afternoon tea with your friends or take a walk."
Miranda waved her hand and said, "You think it's that easy to find a like-minded confidant?"
Howard nodded and said, "That's true. You and Fiona got along well. It's a pity she passed away so early."
Miranda sighed deeply, "Yes. It's been ten years since Fiona passed away."
Howard said calmly, "Grandma, when you adopted Sienna, was there really no one else in her family she could rely on?"
Miranda paused for a moment, her expression cold. She replied, "Hmph, there were, but it's no different than if they were gone."
Howard said in surprise, "I was just asking. Does Sienna really have other relatives? Who are they?"
"They are not worth mentioning," Miranda said with a disgusted look.
"Since we're on the topic, Grandma, tell me. I won't tell anyone," Howard said.
Miranda glanced at Howard and sighed softly, "Fine. There's no harm in telling you. Although Sienna's mother is gone, her father is still alive.
But that father of hers is utterly useless. That's why I never mentioned him all these years, treating him as if he were dead."

At Sunshine Neighborhood, Josiah had been waiting in his car. When his phone rang, he answered immediatel, "Howard, did you find out?"
Howard began, unable to hold back his sympathy, "Mm. Sienna is truly pitiful."
Josiah's heart tightened. He asked, "Why do you say that? What did Grandma tell you?"
Howard replied, "Grandma said that Sienna's mother passed away when she was very young. Her father is still alive. After Fiona's death, Sienna went to find her father, hoping to live with him."
After all, he was her only remaining family. She was just fifteen, a minor, still in school, and needed a guardian.
"But, her father didn't want her and threw her out," Howard continued.
In that instant, Josiah shut his eyes tightly. His lips pressed together as he spat out two words. "That bastard!"
"We know what happened after that. Grandma saw how pitiful she was and took her in for Fiona's sake," Howard said. After finishing, even someone as composed as Howard couldn't help but sigh repeatedly.
He said, "Sienna suffered too much. Josiah, be good to her. She treated us as siblings, yet we haven't shown her, our sister, enough care and love."
