"Rosie!" Howard hurried past Daniel and helped Rosie up from the floor. "Did you hurt yourself?"

"I'm fine." Rosie shook her head, instinctively stepping aside to avoid his support. "Thank you."

Daniel suddenly realized something. His eyes darted around before he pointed at Howard. "What did you just call him?" If he had heard correctly, Rosie had just called him Hendrix. "Who's Hendrix? You're Howard."

In a flash, Howard's gaze darkened. He glared at Daniel before looking at the security guard behind him. "Take him out!"

"Yes, sir!" The security guards came up and dragged Daniel out. "Let's go."

"Let go of me! Rosie is my wife! I have every right to take her with me!" Daniel naturally wouldn't give in so easily.

Amidst the chaos, Rosie suddenly said, "Wait!" The room fell into silence. Everyone turned to her, including Howard. She lifted her head toward Howard's location and asked, "Y-You're not Hendrix. Are you Mr. Flynn?"

"I—" Howard, rarely caught off guard, was momentarily at a loss for words. His features tensed.

Rosie pressed on, asking, "Who are you exactly?"

Left with no choice, Howard pressed his lips together and nodded. "Yes, I'm Howard."

Rosie felt a cold chill creep up the back of her neck. She opened her mouth, but no words came out. "Y-You..."

Suddenly, Daniel burst into laughter. "Howard, it turned out you deceived my wife!"

Then, he turned to Rosie. "Rosie, this man didn't even dare to tell you his real identity. He's just toying with you. Once he's tired of you, he'll dump you. Rosie, come with me. Let's go home—"

"Shut up!" Howard glared at Daniel, his gaze icy. "It's none of your business what's going on between us."

Daniel ignored Howard and shouted to Rosie, "Rosie, I treated you badly before, making you sad. That's why he managed to fool you with his sweet talk. It's all my fault. Please come home with me. I promise I'll treat you well in the future."

"Shut up!" Amidst the commotion, Rosie covered her eyes which were in pain with her hands.

"Rosie?" Howard immediately noticed it. He turned to the security guards and snapped, "What are you waiting for? Get him out!"

"Understood, Mr. Flynn!" The security guards tightened their grip on Daniel, dragging him out of the ward.

Even as Daniel was pulled away, he kept shouting, "Rosie, don't be fooled! Think about it. Howard can get his hands on any woman he wants! He'd never fall for someone like you! He hid his identity because he never intended to take you seriously!"

Howard, unable to bear it any longer, slammed the door shut with a loud bang. After that, he turned to Rosie. "Rosie—"

"Stay away from me!" Rosie instantly raised her arms defensively, subconsciously backing away two steps.

"Rosie." Howard stopped in his tracks, his brows furrowed. "I was wrong to hide my identity from you. But I never intended to deceive you," he explained.

Rosie's mind was racing. She had no idea why Howard would be interested in her. "Then what's your motive? Why would someone like you..." She covered her eyes again.

"Rosie." Howard wanted to steady her, but she flinched back as if sensing his touch as she shook her head repeatedly.

"Please, could you leave me alone?" she pleaded.
