Chapter 221
“You may think so. That is her new rule.”
“If so, I won’t hire her for your sake. I don’t want to sadden you. Well, I will come up with another solution.” Alton rubbed his chin and pondered grimly.
Finley liked the old man more than before.
“Grandpa, I am a doctor. Don’t worry. If he has a problem, I can cure him.”
“Great. That’s great.”
“His problem may be physical or psychological. I have got your bedroom ready. You two will stay here tonight.”
Alton was enthusiastic, so Finley had to accept the invitation.
The dinner was a feast.
The Turner family sat around the big round table.
The servants served some food and wine from time to time.
Alton was happy tonight. He raised his glass and made a toast.
The goblets clinked with each other, and there came the crisp sound.
Finley ate little for her good image. She behaved well.
Bryan was considerate and sent a lot of food to Finley’s plate.
Finley glared at him. “I can’t eat so much food.”
Bryan leaned over and whispered, “Well, are you afraid that the Turner family can’t serve enough. food for you?”
Finley curled her lips. “I am on a diet.”
Did he play dumb?
Why did he try to embarrass me?
“You aren’t in the mansion. Should I tell the old man that you lose your appetite because of the people here?’
Bryan was sharp-tongued.
Finley grabbed her fork and glared at Bryan fiercely. Then, she ate up the food on her plate.
“Be yourself on any occasion. Don’t restrain yourself, okay?” Bryan said so when Finley finished.
I misunderstood Bryan. I thought that he didn’t agree with my diet.
He knew why I ate little.
So sweet! Finley felt moved.
After dinner, Bryan led Finley to his bedroom.
