Paige Works Here?

Jaydan Johnson, the restaurant manager, glanced at Paige, who was next to Martin and then at their hands, which were holding together Needless to say, Paige was Martin’s girlfriend.

Then Jaydan bowed respectfully and said, “Mrs. Stowe, this way please!”

“I am not Mrs. Stowe.”

But Jaydan was so sure about it since the two were holding hands. Then he nodded and said, “But you will be soon, right? Do you know that Mr. Stowe has never brought a girl here before? You are the first one!”

Paige was speechless.

“Is there anything you can’t eat?”

“No. But I’d be happy if you could just call me Paige.”

“Mrs. Stowe, calling you ‘Mrs. Stowe’ is my way of showing respect…” Jaydan smiled before whispering to the walkie talkie on his collar, “Quick, clear the area as soon as possible!”

Paige then looked at Martin, as if asking him, “We’re just eating here, right? Why is all the ostentation?”

“This is our first time.”

Martin did not let go of her hand, and the two entered the restaurant together after that

Meanwhile, Abbigail was holding Davon’s arms happily.

“Davon, the food here is expensive, and yet you’ve brought me here. It’s so nice of you!”

“You’re my fiancée, so of course, I have to be nice to you.” Davon looked at her lovingly.

The two talked as they walked to the restaurant sweetly. But then the receptionist bowed to them apologetically. “I’m sorry, it is booked today.”

“The whole restaurant has been booked? How come I didn’t receive a notification…” Davon frowned slightly. Obviously, he was a little unhappy.

“It’s last-minute. I’m really sorry. Maybe you can rebook a table on our app on another day. We will give you a 50 percent discount then…”

Abbigail found the discount tempting.

She knew how much the restaurant charged for it’s food. A drink alone cost over several hundred dollars here.

But even so, not everyone could book a table here. Davon only managed to do it because he started to make a reservation half a month ago…

The receptionist turned around but failed to see anyone. Then she explained gently, “The only people who can enter

the restaurant tonight are the VIP guests. Other than that, there are only us, the service staff.”

“Abbigail, who did you see?”

Davon looked over curiously, only to find no one.

“I think I saw Paige,” Abbigail whispered in Davon’s ear.

“Did you mistake someone else?”

Only rich people or people with high social status were allowed in there. But Paige was neither.

Besides, the whole restaurant had been booked. There was no way Paige could get in there.

“Maybe Paige works here in order to stay in Chicago?”

Abbigail sighed hypocritically, “Davon, can you find a job for her? I’m worried that the rich people here might take a fancy to her and even harass her You know how proud Paige could be. What if she makes sacrifices only to stay in

Chicago..”

“Whatever situation she is in now has nothing to do with us.”

“Let’s go to the restaurant opposite.” Davon held Abbigail’s hand.
