CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery novel Chapter 1451

Charlie needed money for surgery, and Winnie needed funds for her prenatal checkups too. If she took that money now, what would happen to Winnie later on?

“Why couldn’t you take it? Charlie’s health comes first! Are you treating me like a stranger instead of your sister?” Winnie insisted, placing the bank card firmly into Jamie’s hand.

Jamie wanted to refuse, but Winnie was clearly upset. “Jamie, what exactly are you worried about? Sure, we don’t have a ton of cash right now, but look at this big house. We’re not at rock bottom.”

To Ben, a house like this meant nothing. It was small change he could easily spare. The difference between them was vast. They were worlds apart, with a gulf too wide to bridge.

If he wanted, he could cover all of Charlie’s medical expenses by himself. But judging by his current attitude, he despised her deeply. If he found out about Charlie’s situation, he would likely feel it was karma, getting some satisfaction from it.

“Just take the money, and I’ll sell my jewelry tomorrow,” Winnie said, getting up and hurrying to the bedroom. She quickly returned with a jewelry box.

Inside the box were her jewelry pieces of simple, everyday designs, nothing that reflected her true taste. Jamie knew her well. Winnie adored bold, vintage-style enamel jewelry, the flashier, the better.

“When we picked these out, I told the salesperson we wanted the most affordable options and didn’t bother with designer brands, so we’d get the best value for resale. Gold is gold. It all holds the same worth,” Winnie said with a touch of pride.

Jamie was caught off guard, and tears filled her eyes as she reached out, hugging her sister tightly, her sobs growing harder with every moment. “Why are you so good to me?”

Why was she so undeserving?
