Jamie was in a terrible state. Her injuries from shielding Ben during the stabbing incident hadn’t healed, and now, thanks to Summer’s scheming, she had developed a fever soaring to a dangerous 104 degrees Fahrenheit.
Lying in bed, delirious and motionless, Jamie didn’t even realize how bad things had gotten. When the housekeeper came to deliver her meal and saw her lying there unresponsive, panic took over.
“Mr. Lucas, Miss Lewis looks like she’s dead!” the housekeeper stammered, trembling with fear.
“What did you just say?” Ben shot up from his chair, his piercing gaze locking onto the housekeeper.
The housekeeper could barely meet his eyes, shrinking under the intensity of his glare. Ben had never looked so alarmed, his usual composure replaced by a pale, stricken expression.
Without waiting for further explanation, Ben bolted out of his study, stumbling as he rushed down the hallway. When he finally reached Jamie’s room, he found her lying in bed, breathing heavily, her face flushed a deep red and sweat beading across her forehead.
Ben touched her forehead. It was scalding. His heart clenched.
Wasting no time, he grabbed his phone and called Caleb. His voice was uncharacteristically frantic. “Caleb, get to my villa immediately. Someone here has a dangerously high fever!”
On the other end of the line, Caleb sighed. “Am I your personal doctor now? It’s just a fever. Do you not have any basic medicine in your house?”
He rattled off a list of his recent “patients.”
“Nina gets sick, Nash brings her to me. Lydia falls ill, Quincy calls me. And now Ben’s woman is sick. Wait, a woman?!” he thought to himself.
Caleb’s eyes lit up with interest. “Ben, someone at your place has a fever? A woman? Where did this mystery lady come from? Don’t tell me it’s your ex?”
“Just come,” Ben snapped. “I don’t know where the medicine is, and it’s bad. She’s burning up.”
The urgency in Ben’s voice made Caleb roll his eyes. “Fine, I’m coming. But you owe me for this,” he grumbled, grabbing his emergency kit and heading to Ben’s villa.

Don't tell me 🤯 Is Nina pharaoh's daughter?...
Meanwhile why is Nina playing hard to get? What else does she want from the man? I bet if Nash ever declares to kove the baby unconditionally she might soften up but lady just spill the secret he would be overjoyed!...
I see you increased the number of chapters per day by 2, but please can we have like 20 chapters per day? 7 chapters is too little, the suspense is just crazy...
Man forget Nina. Bring Nash to me. I'll be more than willing to be with such a handsome and rich++ husband. 😘😘...
Oh god. EVERYTIME every freaking time Nash and Nina are on the edge to reconcile there's a third party. And Miranda!! Oh my God. I think the story is useless now. How come there's so much villain in their life. Gosh?!...
