Noah’s expression darkened slightly as he looked at Ben’s aloof demeanor. He curled his lips into a mocking smile. “I’ve always hated that superior attitude of yours. You’re only where you are because you were born lucky.”

“If you’re finished, you can leave,” Ben said flatly, uninterested in listening to Noah’s ramblings.

Noah let out a cold laugh. “You used to take everything for granted. But now that I’m here, you don’t still think Lucas Corporation is entirely under your control, do you? Let’s see how things go.”

Ben watched him leave with icy eyes.

When the office door swung open, Jamie stepped back, her expression cool and detached, clearly unwilling to engage with Noah. But Noah, being someone who never understood boundaries, did not take the hint.

“Jamie, we meet again. What did I say last time?” he said with a teasing smile.

“Mr. Vice President,” she replied, addressing him formally and keeping her tone distant.

Seeing her frosty demeanor, Noah glanced back toward Ben’s office with a glint of mischief in his eyes. “Working with my brother must be exhausting. Looking at his frosty face all day would wear anyone down. Why don’t you come work for me instead? I’m still in need of a secretary.”

A sharp, icy voice from Ben, interrupted from behind. “Noah, am I dead to you?”

Noah had been about to retort, but Jamie cut him off first, politely yet firmly rejecting him. “I’m not interested.”

She didn’t give the new Vice President an ounce of face, brushing past him without a second glance. Noah’s smile faded, and his expression darkened for once.
