CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery novel Chapter 1702

Ben rubbed his tired eyes after reviewing the draft for a while. When he looked back at Jamie, a faint smile curved his lips. “The draft looks good—just a few minor issues.”

Jamie immediately perked up, eager to learn, like a diligent student.

Playing the role of her temporary teacher, Ben shared everything he knew without holding back.

The afternoon flew by.

Feeling satisfied, Jamie grabbed the draft with fresh notes and rushed off to make revisions. She became so immersed in her work that she didn’t even notice how much time had passed until evening.

Ben, having finished his own tasks, looked over and saw Jamie still glued to her computer. With a sigh, he rubbed his forehead and walked over to pull her up from her chair.

Jamie yelped as her upper body suddenly left the ground. “Ben, what are you doing? I’m not done yet!”

Ben pointed to his watch. “Take a look at the time.”

Jamie glanced at the clock, then jumped up in alarm, nearly bumping into him. “Charlie!”

But as soon as she panicked, she smacked her forehead, remembering that she had already asked the nanny to pick him up.

Ben noticed her flustered expression and didn’t even need to ask. He chuckled, his brows lifting with a touch of exasperation. “Even if you don’t have to pick up Charlie, you should clock out when it’s time to go home. I’m not paying overtime for staying late.”

With that, he pulled her out of the chair, firm but gentle.

As they left the office, Jamie glanced back at her nearly completed draft with a twinge of reluctance. It was so close to being finished!

But Ben wasn’t open to negotiation.

During rush hour, the drive home was slow, with traffic clogging the streets. Jamie’s frustration had mostly faded. She wasn’t obsessively attached to working. She simply wanted to finish the project as soon as possible.

As she gazed out the car window at the gridlocked roads, she couldn’t help but notice Ben’s slightly furrowed brows, his mood seemingly a bit restless.
