CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery novel Chapter 1791

As Karina was about to leave, the door suddenly chimed and opened.

She looked up to see who had entered, her eyes widening in surprise. “How could it be him?!” she thought to herself.

Harley Carter’s gaze flickered over her, his eyebrows slightly raised, as if he too was a little surprised.

“Excuse me,” Karina said, trying to avoid engaging with him, but he was blocking the way. She had no choice but to speak.

Fortunately, Harley didn’t try to stop her. He stepped aside, making way for her.

Karina let out a quiet breath of relief, but just as she was about to pass him, she suddenly heard his low voice.

“Small world, Wilfred’s little assistant.”

Karina lifted her gaze, but said nothing as she walked out.

Harley stood there for a moment, then, after a brief pause, he smiled with an almost amused expression before entering the flower shop. A few moments later, he came out holding a bouquet of carnations.

Back at her apartment, Karina couldn’t stop thinking about the encounter. After hesitating for a while, she decided to call Wilfred. But whether it was because of her own curiosity about Harley, she wasn’t sure.

“Dr. Wilfred, I ran into that person you had a conflict with earlier.”

“Who?” Wilfred’s voice was raspy.

Karina, momentarily distracted by the sound of his voice, shifted her focus. “Dr. Wilfred, are you feeling okay?”

Wilfred responded casually, “It’s just the change in seasons, nothing to worry about. Continue.”

Karina tried to push her worry aside, expressing concern for a moment before returning to the topic. “It’s Dr. Carter, Harley. I ran into him.”

Wilfred sat up straighter in his chair. “Where did you run into him?”

Karina was about to mention the flower shop, but then realized she didn’t want to spoil the surprise for him tomorrow. So, she lied. “I bumped into him on my way home from work.”

Wilfred didn’t press further, probably believing her. “Just be careful around him.”
